A friend of mine is in Jamaica getting some time away from the snow, so I asked him for the most simple gift, pictures of the beach. So I guess you could say these are my pictures as I own them now? consider it a transfer of assets as images do have value.

For the entire 2020 I didn't see a beach and that is something that many may take for granted. Just imagine I am here happy just to be gifted pictures. As I type this I am thinking of the snow that will fall later this evening here, but I'd rather be seeing the sunset in Negril, Mobay or Port Antonio.

Usually my trips back home are short and just as I get used to it, it is time to go back to Japan. However my friend will be in JA until March. That is a good trip, enough time to soak up the vibes and be ready to leave. Any location no matter how beautiful can get a little stale after some time right?

Dream

I guess you could say Japan is my home now. My dream is to live between Japan, Flarida ( Yeah I know it is Florida ) and Jamaica. Stay 5 months in Jamaica, 5 months in Japan and maybe two in Florida. Why Florida? I have a lot of family and friends there and I have been passing through since childhood.

While in Japan, I'd like to see more of this island as well as travel within Asia to countries such as Indonesia ( especially Bali ), India, The Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan and China. Living here I haven't really travelled to many places. I've been to Thailand, South Korea and Guam ( which is captured land USA). There isn't much time to travel living here as WORK and more Work is the order of the day and taxes work hard to take your money away.

Having a family also makes travelling a bit more expensive....a lot actually. But I am grateful for my family and I want them to travel with me, so its just a matter of manifesting more currency by being of value and grinding.

Memories of Negril

I will be the first to admit I haven't been to Negril many times. As a matter of fact, most Jamaicans don't get to see Jamaica as a tourist would. I have probably been to Negril less than 10 times in my life but it is enough to have the memories.

A memory that stands out is when I went to "Dream Weekend for the first time. Dream weekend is an all inclusive weekend of parties. Most days have 2-3 parties. A weekend band could get you through all the gates but there was also the hotel expense. Dream is probably the biggest party weekend in the Caribbean, seriously! I remember the room situation was stupid as we were high school kids and didn't have the mula so we tried to trick the hotel staff that only X amount of peeps were in the room. All I can remember, one night after coming from a party on the beach I was greeted by a security guard with a Spanish accent and a Rottweiler. I can't remember what exactly happened after, but I ended up sleeping on the beach that night and it wasn't that bad.

Another crazy memory was when I went to Jamaica with a Japanese Gf at the time. She was adamant on going to Negril but I had some things to do in the city. She wanted to go to Negril so bad, we had a fight on our stay in Mobay. A fight in public, so stupid and loud police security guard type peeps had to come and calm her down. ( notice I said her ) 😂

"You have to keep this type of argument private, don't do it in public like that"

Or some fuckery like that the security was saying. but I wasn't the one fighting.

Long story short we ended up going to Negril.😂 I brought this bitch I mean woman all the way here, made her dream come true so I thought why fuck it up now and not go all the way through? We went to Ocho Rios, Portland, and Mobay so Negril was the next major stop missing from her "bucket list". I made some calls to my "wolf of Jamaican Stock Exchange" uncle and got a few nights stay at a hotel he had some shares in. Can't even remember the name of the hotel. But it was all inclusive and nice!

Fvck!! This is getting long, but I really want to travel within Jamaican and the Caribbean. It is like I don't know my own country and backyard. Time to change that.

Here is a song not many of you will know. It is by Looga Man called chilln in Negril on the Headache Riddim. Looga is a member of the Dutty Cup Crew, Sean Paul is also a member, ( yeah I think you know him) So this dude has been around Sean Paul before all the money and fame. He hasn't had a huge buzz but the people in the culture know the name. Enjoy,

Negril Beach! I did internship at a hotel along the beach. Lived on property for 2 months. On weekends, I’d meet up with other friends doing internship in the area. We’d walk along the 7 mile strip of beach, go on the glass bottom boat, snorkel, go jet skiing, go to the pool, visit Ricks Cafe. Fond memories.
No wonder I’m kind of a beach snob. The beach needs to be good even if I’m not going in the water. Now mi waa go home. Cho man. Lol!!!

I know what you mean... A lot of "touristy" places here are also way too expensive for the locals. I've been hearing noises of giving locals a reduced tariff, but the owners usually say "locals aren't our demographic". I find that very sad, because people will then choose to spend their money on foreign trips, while it could have been spent locally.

An Asia trip sounds awesome by the way and is more affordable. The only issue is the ticket prices 😅
