Nanook is a very special space located in the heart of Kingston, Halfway tree. The space has a restaurant serving the best in Ital food, a stage for live performances and rehearsals, film viewing, yoga lessons, poetry recitals, live painting, meetings space, recording studio and more.

Nanook has a natural vibe to it that can’t be compared to anywhere else. It’s a favorite for an after work lime, a game of dominoes or just chill and take in the vibes.

When you are there you don’t feel any anxiety or tension like a lot of spaces in Kingston as they attract a more mature and conscious audience.

When I was in Jamaica a few years ago I went to a live performance night and the vibes was bliss. All performers came with their bands and were singing conscious tunes to make the spirit feel at ease.
The place was packed but as it’s a decent size one could feel freed up. The drum can bonfire also gives the place rootsy ambiance.

Below is a live performance I took a short video of. This dude ( can’t remember his name ) had a mystical vibe as if he was reading your mind and talking to you in intervals while singing. He really knows how to interact with the crowd.

Nanook is going through a renewal and gearing up to relaunch soon. It will no doubt remain a go to spot for the mature and conscious.

The company also has a great overview as seen on their Facebook page and website and it reads:

Nanook is a social enterprise - a model for change geared towards helping people make a living from their culture and creativity. We develop, stimulate and promote creative Caribbean people and projects & assist the wider world to connect to the Caribbean creators and content.

When you are in Kingston, be sure to check out Nanook.

Yeah man! I long to go to a place like this. Indoor places gonna take a beating for a bit. Nothing like some fresh air while you enjoy some music. I hope one day I can do a hive / blockchain conference here. The crowd at this place would be perfect.

Can't believe I haven't heard of this place and no friends have ever taken me there. Looks like a shelter from the storm in town.

That is the best way to put it! It’s near the stone love head quarters but not every time we want da vibe deh. The owner struggling to keep the biz together but seeing her spirit it the people around her. It should be fine. Tryna figure out how blockchain coulda add to her thing.
