Upness Sunday! How y'all been? Hope it was a blessed week. Increased activity going on in Reggaejahm, glad to see it, and we didn’t have to use any gimmicks 😆!

DashOutz

Yesterday was a spontaneous trip day, well not so much.I mentioned it the idea on Saturday night not thinking it would actually manifest. It was more like a "yeah, we should go tomorrow" and it seems someone REALLY wanted to go.

The Money Shrine

We heard about this temple that brings money luck from one of our money loving friends and decided to go because hey, we can all use some money luck AND a new place to explore. Before we went on our 70KM journey, we stopped off and had some lunch at a chain restaurant called COCOs. We actually wanted something new and more adventurous but to be on the safe side and kid friendly, we went for the COCOs. I had this chicken steamed veggie dish. Wasn't bad, but I will never have it again.

The first thing you have to do before entering the shrine or any shrine is wash your hands, I guess they had the Covid 19 protocols in place centuries ago.

Next, you must bow before entering the gates, Jamaicans aren’t big on "bowing" so a gesture of putting your hand over your heart will do, after all, it is to show respect. Side note, I really do think dragons existed.

At the entrance these two statues of large white snakes greeted us. In Japan, a white snake is a good luck fortune if seen in a dream or in real life. The ritual here is to rub the snakes gently and pay respect to the serpents. At least it’s not a real snake right? Not sure how many would rub it then.

After the snake rub we went to the shrine, tossed some coins and said a prayer. Still not sure the inner workings of Japanese prayer, the mindset and all.

The Money Stream

This is we’re the money magic takes place. Natural water flows down this mini water fall and it is here that we wash our money for good 🔮 but there is a bit more to it... stick with me.

Of course I let everyone go first, what’s a gentleman to do right hehehe.

Here are the money magic steps.

  • Step 1
Place a bill or coin in the basket. Now there is some science to the bills as well, as I heard certain serial numbers carry better fortune🤔. I didn't even remember money had a number, I guess those are our public keys?

  • Step 2
Cross the water and kiss the lady Buddha's toes ten times and say "Shizzle Ma Nizzle" 3 times...... this is a joke! 😂

  • Step 2
Using this strainer, net/stick, place it under the flowing water with the bill /bills /coins in it.

My twins tried it together ( before I did) and while bringing the stick back, dropped their coins ...yes coins, I ain't given them no bills, they gotta earn that. So they tried again.

  • Step 3
Drink /gobble down some of the water from the falls. It is said to have healing powers but interestingly our friend suffered a cricked neck minutes after she drank it. I don't blame the water or the white snakes, I blame the negative cloud she has been harboring. Leave all bad vibes outta road.

  • Step 4
Now this is the doozy, you must dry the bill and keep it in your wallet for 1 year before spending it.

Now, my Buddha instinct shall add to this. While that money is in your wallet, imagine all the things you are gonna buy and do. Each day raising the amount. That is some discipline. Also, TEK HACTION ( take action ), doing what you love.

Now, do I believe this works? Well every action has a reaction and anything you can do to build your prosperity belief and mindset can't hurt.

Gotta Take The Kids To Play

After all, going to a shrine is not counted as going somewhere in the kids 📚. Oh we stopped by this city market on the way back. Thank God they had a slide.

And here is a song this experience reminded me of called "call in the money" by Round Head of the Monster Shack Crew. Man this was a HUGE riddim when it came out called "Bitter Blood Riddim". Who know this one?

The shrine/temple are really well kept and they've also been saying Asians were onto something with the bowing greet, instead of handshake 🤷‍♀.

Keeping that bill in your pocket for a year... You'll have to remember which one it was 😅.

They were on to something for sure and then we came and showed them this handshake.
Haha well I don't usually keep much money in my wallet. Hmm but yeah , gotta be careful, I'll mark it, and try to use the digital payments more, they offer cash back which is nice !

Yeah, we also pay as much as possible with the debit card and only at fruit and vegetable vendors, so last resorts, we pay in cash.

Hello brother @dmilliz
It's great that place, I don't know how miraculous it is, but if in any way of positively affecting your mind, that's good.
I hope the money multiplies countless times, and that you get a lot of it.
Congrats.
The food doesn't look bad, not really.
I love all the infrastructure you show of the temple.
It's funny that bowing to someone, how it changes meaning, I think in Asian culture it's honoring, but for us Caribbean and Latinos it means something very different. No doubt about it.
But, it is respected.

Greetings bro! Yes indeed, anyway yo hey the mind right, to have a little adventure and a post out of it.

The food looked better than it tasted 😆

Ok, so the bowing is not a good look in latino culture too..hahaha yes, very different but I think we over think it and bring the street vibe into it. Living here it is something you have to get used to.

Let us all manifest good fortune 🔮 through the right mindset and actions daily!
Blessings 😎

Interesting custom, reminds of a similar tradition in Cambodia. Taken from the Chinese, Cambodians tend to burn artificial money for certain holidays, basically a monetary offering to the ancestors with hopes they will return the favor.
