I think I have lived an interesting life so far and HIVE and the Blockchain space certainly adds to that. Consider this a throw back Thursday post even though it is Friday here ( it is still Thursday in many places)... whoops too late, this is now a flashback Friday.

The meeting

It was possibly a Friday, maybe 2003. I was in some sort of school but this day was a holiday as far as I can remember. I received a call from the "Don" who wanted to have a meeting in his area. At that time I had no car so he told me to take a taxi and he would pay for the cost.

Upon getting in the taxi and telling the driver where I was going, he was very hesitant to take me. I had to assure him that it would be OK, nothing is gonna happen to him.

"Mi nuh usually guh round dem ends deh...a rob you wah rob me? The ends nuh safe! . A set you a set me up star."
I don't usually go around that area...are you trying to rob me. That area is not safe. I know you are trying to set me up to rob me.

Now while this convo is taking place he is still driving towards the destination. Why? It was a bit of a distance and the earnings would probably be his best for the day. All along the way he kept on reiterating the same thing. "A rob unu a guh rob me!"

My motorolla flip phone rings, it is the "don":

"Weh you deh?"

"Just around the corner."

The taxi pulls up into the lane where two men are standing in the middle of the road with glocks tucked into there waist, handles showing.

Taxi driver :

"Fuck, I knew it, a set you a set me up."

Me:

"Just cool man, trust me."

As I get out the car another man approached the taxi from behind, and slowly walks up to the driver’s side and throws some cash through the window, on to the taxi driver’s lap and says something like:

" Weh we a rob you fah? After yuh nuh have nuh money."
Why are we robbing you when you don't have any money?

The scent of strong weed filled the air, and red dazed eyes looked on. I walked towards the entrance of the house the "don" was dwelling in for the time being. After showing me the new shipment of glocks with laser light aim attached we began our meeting while his baby mother who has a twin looked on. ( I will leave the results and content of the meeting to your imagination, but no it had nothing to do with arms:)

The Yacht Party

My Motorola rings again but this time it is my friend from the way informing me of the private Yacht party that was about to go down.

"Yo , I'm taking out the family Yacht for the day to Lime Cay, mek sure yuh forward.”

After our meeting and a bit of chilling on the corner, I found my way to the boat yard Just by the Portmore bridge. I don't even remember how I got there but I got there. My younger brother was there as well. I think I was late but then the captain was late as well so it was no biggie. We got on the boat and headed towards Lime Cay. But before we even left, the liquor was pouring.

Markie Spice ( the dude in the pic below ) knew all the girls and brought a few to the party. This dude loves his white rum up to this day.

Reggae music was blaring, laughter and joy filled the air and the cups stayed filled. The more we drank the louder we got. As the captain set anchor a distance off shore, I jumped into the Caribbean Sea drunk and high. It was a blissful feeling. The water was so deep it was difficult to touch the bottom without feeling the pressure in my ears.

A couple of us took the dingy ( smaller boat) out for a spin and ended up by the port right underneath where containers were being offloaded. I had never seen that before. It was very interesting for me and a thousand thoughts ran through my mind. On the way back we went a little bit too fast and flipped the dingy. We were thrown into the air and skipped on the water like stones a couple times. We were all ok though drunk as pirates.

Sitting in the cabin beside a sandy haired beauty, taking a break on the white leather couch, I remember thinking to myself while looking at a painting on the wall.

Some people were born into wealth, others have to make it for themselves. Some take a dangerous path others the straight and narrow, which path am I on? At that point in time I didn’t care, I felt rich already as the intoxication from the red and the brown drenched my ego.

It seems that I was always doing something wrong. JAHM did even better. But, maybe people know secrets I don't know. DC is not active and growing slowly. If you want, you can replay me here : A new community to practice English !. That's the post about the new community if you want to join and help.

The taxi driver part cracked me up. Lol.

Some people were born into wealth, others have to make it for themselves. Some take a dangerous path others the straight and narrow, which path am I on? At that point in time I didn’t care, I felt rich already as the intoxication from the red and the brown drenched my ego.

I was having this thought some days back--that I was going to do whatever it took to better my life. I do not like that type of desperation. I honestly do not want to be on that path and lose who I am. But for how long?

I know the feeling, but what I’ve learnt is that feeling of desperation will block you from seeing the opportunities around you and giving it your best shot. As long as it don’t hurt nobody, go for it. God will provide if you believe he will. I’m seeing dudes fall into some good opportunities and I’m seeing some end up in shit. And the main factor that differentiates them is attitude. It’s interesting how it all works out.

Thanks!

Well the Reggaejahm account isn't making any announcements as there is nothing to announce and we aren't running any contest steem/hive style ATM. It is however actively voting content in the reggaejahm hive community. Not content tagged with JAHM from other interfaces.

Please post in the reggaejahm community at times bro. Or crosspost if you have to.

I was fascinated by the poetry you imprinted on the narrative.

You're right brother: wonderful things happen at sea. All my life I have been lucky to live near the sea. I love it!

How many memories will I always have in my mind and in my heart of those magical moments in the sand, under a palm tree and listening to the lull of the waves and the wind.

My personal paradise! I do not need anything else.

The sea is where it is at. When you think about it, you can't just go unto many pieces of land and hunt, but you can basically swim in most parts of the sea and hunt freely. I'd love to be by the sea right now.

Brother, the sea gives us everything.
It gives us peace.
It gives us energy.
It gives us food.

Blessed be the sea.
