I m sure you know those very popular Kalanchoe plants that you can get almost all year round in any flower shop or grocery store. The ones with thick, big and very green, shiny heaves and a little cluster or flowers in the middle. THIS is how they look like. You all know them, right?Na pewno znacie te popularne Żyworódki dostępne prawie zawsze i wszędzie. W każdej kwiaciarni czy supermarkecie. To te z dużymi, mięsistymi, błyszczącymi liśćmi i bukiecikiem kwiatów pośrodku. Oto jak wyglądają. Znacie, prawda?
And now have a look at the very same plant in more natural conditions.A teraz zobaczcie jak wygląda ta sama roślina w bardziej naturalnych warunkach.

Why the difference? Well.. the ones in a shop are grown in perfect and mild conditions. They are pushed to grow fast with fertilizers so that the nursery can sell them fast. Mają idealne, łagodne warunki i ogrom nawozu. Wszystko po to, by rosły szybko, i można było je szybko sprzedać.
In nature they will never have such conditions (they are native to Madagascar). They will have moments of draught and moments when they go dormant and don't grow at all. Add to that some strong sun and wind and you get much slower growing plant with smaller leaves and most of the time naked stems (in the older plants). All the harsher condition will all make the leaves change colour due to stress. No, it is not harmful for the plant. This is just what they do when stressed and exposed to strong sun or very low temperatures.W naturze takich warunków już nie mają (pochodzą z Madagaskaru).

I might be neglecting my one a little bit too much. It probably could grow bushier. It’s probably because I know it can handle almost anything! Almost... because overwatering will kill any succulent.

It's the difference between a sunny spot and shadow behind it.
I put the plant in a small spot of light (sun) and make sure right behind everything is already in shade... The camera settings are set to get the light good since it is so bright. Everything behind will turn very dark.

I have one Kalanchoe growing, or rather, now more than one. Once I picked up a branch on the street and put it in a glass of water. She gave roots and I transplanted her into a pot of soil. The succulent plant feels good, but ... does not even think to bloom. For several years I have not seen a single flower... :)
Nice captures!

Thank you!
If you keep at home, try to put it outside for the warmer months and just bring it back in before the frosts. It might need some temperature change (between day and night) and direct sun.

It is located on the north side of my apartment. There are no sun rays. Perhaps this is the reason for everything. Now autumn is the first frost. He will have to endure until spring. I will take your advice
Many thanks :)

Could be the reason then. Succulents love bright light and sun.
