Thanksgiving service 22nd May 2021

Here are a few of the many things I learnt from today’s Thanksgiving service;

Romans 12:11 Not slouthfull in busines: fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”

Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed."

I learnt that we should not be slothful but faithful steward of the gifts of God to us. We should not be like the Servant given one talent that never used it. We should use our gifts and talents no matter how small. To do good works and to serve God.
It’s time to awake from our sleep and be busy with the works of God.

I also learnt about anger. That anger is a commandment of God, but it should be channeled into a good course.
Ephesians 4:26 Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go, Lest you learn his ways And set a snare for your soul.

We should use our anger against the work of the devil and to promote righteousness.

We should do good as an example to others so that they can see and do the same.
