Mist monsters

Not monsters and not mist.
But if you choose to shoot all those small things like mushrooms, bugs, mosses from a ground level, they will look huge. Quite obvious right?

The mist is a little trick too. Any small obstacle that is very close to the camera lens while you focus on something a bit further will give that misty look. It will simply block the view, but since it is not in focus you can't really see what it is. One little grass, pine needle and small stick is usually enough to do it.

My lens will not focus on something this close (few cm away from the lens) anyway, so I just get that blur. Not something I look into on purpose, but after checking the photos, I like the effect.

And so we have a few small mushrooms I shot a while ago in the park near me. I didn't think that I would find so many different types there. All I had to do is to stop and look between the grasses and around some dead tree bits.
And there they were...

These are the real secrets. Listen up people you'll learn something haha

This is a neat if not always wanted effect that further adds to the mystery.

Even though you say the lens you are using is not too focused on capturing small objects, but I think the photo you share is quite detailed or the focus obtained is very high, so the mushroom looks clear and very beautiful.
Thank you for sharing the beauty of today.
I hope you have a nice day ❤❤🤗🤗

The lens is a macro lens. I will focus on small things. Just not when they are too close. That's why it does not focus on the grasses that were in front of the mushroom.
Thanks for stopping by :)

I tend to do the same trick to get that hazy effect but I do it on purpose 😂 I really love close up shots which have some sort of Haziness to them.

I always forget about it :p So most of those hazy shots are pure accident. I do like it though! :)

Hi brother @ewkaw . Thank you for sharing tips. I also have the same problem sometimes. So so it requires repeated shots. Are mushrooms safe to eat?

Great shots again! :)) When I was little, I used to go mushroom picking with my grandfather. These photos remind me of that time.

It's not all about the crisp sharp he. Blur can make a lovely effect. Good shots! Any idea what are these mushrooms?

Yea... I like the blur. Normally would go for a nice background bokeh, but this was a nice thing to catch too.
No clue what they are :)

Wow, you managed to make the little mushrooms big. Once again, I am convinced that the perception of objects changes with the shooting. Making small things big and vice versa is an art. Cool shots.

Oh yes.... you can really make people think something is huge/tiny when it really isn't. It's quite fun :)
Thanks a lot!

Immortalized macro shots. They make the hills like mountains you can't reach

Not really sure what type of shrooms they are. But Hahhah when i was smaller my parents thought me that all mushroom are toxic and they can kill you instantly.

Turns out alot of them just give you mild symptoms. The more serious ones give you a fever and at worst death. But those type of mushroom are deep inside of a forest. Literally kilometers from the nearest paved road.

Unless you live in Europe, wherein the weirdest of things grow in the backyard.
