We shared some great words on @definitions this week. Our words of the week are:

  • Nuzzle
  • Hasten
  • Harbingers

Definitions and Example Sentences

Replete (Adjective) - Full of

  • The article was replete with lies. The journalist did not fact check his story.
  • Junk food is replete with added sugar and fat.
  • BONUS - Although we depleted (used up) most of our supplies, the remaining food items are replete with nutrients.

Nuzzle (Verb) - To cuddle or snuggle

  • The horse gently nuzzled his nose against his owner’s back.
  • The young couple nuzzled together under a blanket to stay warm.
  • BONUS - The young child nuzzled into his mother's arms.

Hasten (Verb) - To hurry, accelerate, or rush

  • Many couples hastened their weddings after hearing rumors of war.
  • No matter how often I hasten my children, we always seem to arrive late.
  • BONUS - The accident occurred because the employer hastened his employees.

Harbingers (Noun) - Indicators; Bringers of warnings

  • Since the beginning of time, harbingers have declared that the world is coming to an end.
  • The king sent harbingers to the city demanding surrender, else he would attack.
  • BONUS - The harbingers were not welcome to the party. The party-goers were not interested in the bad news.
