Some contributions for #Threespeak

I must confess that I have fallen in love with #threespeak. I think it's a platform that has a lot to offer and incredible prospects. Precisely because of that, I'm starting to conceive a musical vlog that I think can be a great contribution to #threespeak, as well as to #hive and to the music world in general. And that's also why I've started to make more use of the platform, in order to get to know it better.

However, I feel that that love is not reciprocated and I've had a lot of difficulty uploading my content. So much so that on several occasions I have had to abandon and switch to Youtube. Lately I've been having trouble connecting and uploading my videos has become a novel without an ending.

Of course, 3speak is not responsible for the connectivity I may have or not, but in my drama I have detected some things and I think that listing them here can become a contribution for a better experience on this great platform and I hope it's appreciated by @theycallmedan and the whole @threespeak team.

I must also confess, that although I am a programmer in several languages, I don't think I have the knowledge to develop a program with such levels of complexity. Still, I believe I can make a significant contribution. So here I go.

To begin with, I must indicate that I am on Linux (Ubuntu Studio) and I regularly use Brave as a browser, however, the tests I have done have been with Waterfox and Firefox as well.

Unload

In the Upload page, I think it is necessary to implement an onbeforeunload script that verifies that you want to leave the page before closing it or loading a new page, to avoid accidents. It happened to me that by mistake I closed the tab where the video was loading and I lost what had been advanced, while closing at once.

Resume

It would be wonderful if the possibility of resuming the upload could be implemented. One of the days I was trying to upload content, the system "stalled" three times with 85% of the video uploaded. When I tried to upload it again, it started from scratch.

3speak has a function that notifies if the upload failed, however, in one of my attempts, it was for more than eight hours stuck at 30% and did not indicate error, but did not continue loading either.

I think that function should be reviewed and improved.

This sounds a bit utopian to me, but the ideal would be a function that one can activate through a button, that verifies if it is uploading or not and if not, that allows to resume the upload.

I know that somehow the percentage load bar indicates that, but I mean an additional function, which can be activated additionally.

To Hive

There's one correction that I'm sure won't take much time or effort. Although I think that currently not many users make use of the internal blog that 3speak offers, it should be corrected the fact that the system is taking the right permlink, but it prints out the link to Steemit . :-o

I don't know how the login is programmed, but it happened to me several times that, surfing internally through the pages of the site, I was logged out and had to login again (several times in a short time). I think the ideal is that you don't have to repeat the login, if you are in a trusted computer, the same way it happens on Hive.blog or Peakd.com.

Support

I guess there shouldn't be too many people working on the development of the application and it might be complicated for them to spend time on user requirements. But I think it's important that we can count on some kind of feedback, since I wrote to the support email and there was no response. I also entered the Discord and everywhere there is a warning not to ask for help. At least I had the feeling that one is helpless.

Discord

And since I mentioned Discord, I suggest creating a channel for self promotion, which requires no special effort and people love to share their links on all available channels. I think that would be a good step to start making the server more attractive.

Introduce post

This last suggestion I make today, is one that I think it would be good if it could be implemented, not only in #threespeak, but in all of Hive. I think it would be very positive if every user could indicate a post as their introduction.

It is systematically assumed that the first post is the presentation, but in all these platforms it has been seen that this is not the case, that due to ignorance, or for whatever reason, users write their introduction in a later publication. And if there were a way to get directly to that post, it would be an important contribution to know each author.

The good things are more

In this post only faults are indicated, because it is with a view to correct them and offer a better experience to all users. But it is important to clarify that there are more "good things", those that are in this promising platform and I take this opportunity to invite everyone to know it, to discover it and contribute to take it to a higher level with original and quality content.
