Seeing The Bigger Picture

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

We are all part of a bigger technological picture. Over the next few decades, we are going to see a shift away from the nation-state to digital/virtual worlds.

In this video I discuss how blockchain is vital to this idea and what we are doing today is vital to the world we ultimately end up with.

I can't even imagine how the laws/regulations are going to keep up with these changes globally, glad it's not something I am tasked with coming up with, it's going to be a nightmare!

That is why I think a lot of the laws will end up being digital governance systems. The existing system simply cannot keep up.

It is why the experimentation in governance that is taking place in blockchain right now is so important. We are testing new models.

The word of the day/month/year: blockchain. It's funny that in my country and in many others there is an app called carvertical.com where you can check a car's history and events based on its own VIN code. It's advisable to use it before purchasing a car in Europe, especially Eastern Europe, so you check its exact millage, previous car incidents and so on...
It works on blockchain technology... How many using it do you think that are even aware what blockchain technology is? I'd say very few because I've been hearing folks talking about it for years, but no one ever says anything about blockchain. They're just amazed of the accuracy of data and how immutable the information is. They only see the end result of using it, but don't bother getting the big picture.
Have a great day! Time for me to get to bed, it's 1 AM in here...

Well blockchain is a ledger, a data structure.

So the idea that people are using an application without knowing it is blockchain is not surprising. This is how I foresee things unfolding here with Hive. People are going to be using the applications without having any idea they are on "Hive". Instead, they will only care about the applications they are using.

This will be something across the board as layer 2 solutions with their own tokens take hold. Communities that tokenize will have users who could care less where the data is housed.

the migration to a digital world will be complex and lobbies will take steps to slow down this process, at least until they too have the opportunity to make money and always maintain control over the system.

It will be a tough fight

Never have they been able to slow technology down across the board.

And now, I think it completely impossible. Technology can come from any corner of the planet.

The key is the mega corporations that are going head to head. We need to develop our own platforms to be able to usurp them.

I am still lacking looking into the future with all the blockchain activities around me. Usually we tend to go so deep in our work that we forget why we are doing it and where we are heading or what's our ultimate goal. Sometimes we need to take a step back and have a broader look at what is happening. Only at that point we can take wiser decisions.

Absolutely. That is true. We need to come up for air once in a while to see the progress truly being made.

It is something that is hard to do when one is driven and wired to go all in.

There is a much bigger picture at play and I feel it vital that we remember that.

Summary:
In this video, Task talks about the importance of seeing the bigger picture in blockchain and cryptocurrency. He emphasizes that the technology transcends the current focus on tokens and financial systems, envisioning a future where blockchain will play a significant role in governance, potentially diminishing the influence of nation-states. By discussing technological advancements like AI, edge computing, and virtual reality, Task predicts a shift towards a virtual world where traditional concepts of governance and economics will evolve. He also highlights the escalating power struggle between tech giants and regulators, projecting a transition towards a world dominated by technology rather than traditional government structures.

Detailed Article:

Task initiates the discussion by addressing the prevalent narrow view of blockchain and cryptocurrency among individuals who primarily focus on tokens and financial systems. He stresses the significance of comprehending the broader implications of the technology, beyond immediate gains or losses in token value. Task envisions blockchain's role in transforming governance, propelling society towards a decentralized system that operates independently of physical boundaries, drawing parallels to the pervasive influence of cloud computing in contemporary life.

Furthermore, Task delves into the potential impact of blockchain on governance, foreseeing a future where nation-states may relinquish some control in favor of decentralized systems facilitated by blockchain technology. Amidst references to the current geopolitical landscape and discussions surrounding blockchain voting, Task urges viewers to consider the broader implications of blockchain on governance structures, hinting at a paradigm shift where blockchain could supersede traditional nation-state functions.

Transitioning to a discussion on technological advancements, Task explores the trajectory towards a virtual future dominated by edge computing, AI, augmented reality, and advancements in internet coverage. He predicts a metamorphosis of societal norms as individuals increasingly immerse themselves in a digital realm where concepts of work, entertainment, and social interaction undergo profound transformations.

Task underscores the escalating power struggle between tech behemoths like Facebook, Google, and Amazon, and regulatory bodies, hinting at a potential shift towards a technologically dominated world order. While acknowledging the uncertainties surrounding the future of blockchain and technology, Task emphasizes the inevitability of a shift towards a virtual world by 2030, where individuals will spend considerable time engaging in virtual experiences and interactions.

In conclusion, Task encourages viewers to adopt a holistic perspective on technological advancements and blockchain's transformative potential. By highlighting the convergence of visions between tech leaders and technologists, he underscores the pivotal role individuals play in shaping the trajectory of technological evolution and the societal landscape. Ultimately, Task underscores the profound impact of blockchain and technological advancements on governance, economics, and societal structures, urging individuals to consider the broader implications of their engagement with blockchain technology.
