2013 Palau Gold $1 Mandarinfish

The first Marine Life Protection series , with each year the design changed, featuring various types of sea life. The series ran from 1992 until 2017.
Sorry for the quality of the photo. My iPhone camera is not cooperating with me today.

OBVERSE:

All issues, except the gold dollars and the gold rectangular $10 and $20, were colorized. The copper-nickel and gold dollars had images of mermaids on the obverse, some designs included Neptune as in the 2013 gold dollar issue.

REVERSE:

This .9999 fine Gold coin features one of the most colorful creatures in the sea. The Mandarinfish is a small, brightly-colored member of the dragonet family, which is popular in saltwater tanks. On the obverse is the coat of arms of Palau and $1 denomination. This coin comes to you in a beautiful wood box and in its original capsule.

After I received the 2013 Gold Mermaids and Neptune coin, I have been searching for the gold coin and gold bar below. Hopefully I will someday add these to my Mermaid collection, i.e., if they are at all available.

Wow! That's a stunning coin sis! The Mandarin fish is excellent in detail as are the mermaids and Neptune. It's very nicely done and a great addition to your stack. Did you purchase the switch plate? If so, where are you going to put it? It would be cool in the bathroom.

I will keep an eye out, but we don't get to the LCS much anymore. Maybe someday soon!

The bathroom is where I will put the switch plate if I ever find it. They either have them in turtles or mermaids, but not together. I share it with you because I like Turtles with Mermaids, and that is why I have that gold coin on my wishlist. I prefer the mermaid with the turtle than Neptune, LOL!

Just awesome @silversaver888 thank you for sharing, I also like the the 1998 sea turtle, that would be my next choice!😀
I do love silver, but after this next run-up in the silver/Gold spot price silver will back off it always follows this pattern.
It will end up higher, of course....but Gold always holds on to a better new high.

I don't know if they came out with a gold $1 versions every year. There were like 4 years that I have not seen in my research. I have seen all the years the cupro-nickel versions, and the mermaid designs are not particularly those that I care for because the mermaids depicted are not covered. The 1998 $1 gold with the mermaid holding a parrot is about the only one that I like because the mermaid's top is covered with shell.

Hoy,and I thought this coin was a quarter or half oz. sized coin but a wee 0.5g. Your Video and photo sure made it look way bigger than it is. Amazing detail in so little a coin. I know you enjoy swimming, perhaps you are Mermaid!

I just zoom in to get a better look. And that os why I always show it on my hand. The capsule should give an idea of the actual size f the coin. The capsule is a standard 1 oz gold size, I think.
