This Almost Missed the Canadian Thanksgiving

I’m really early for the American Thanksgiving.

It’s fall here in the northern hemisphere. This weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada. A weekend for many that signals the end to summer. Cottages and campgrounds will close after this weekend for most. Today is cool and sunny. Least anytime I looked outside.

Fall colours will be on display, made all the brighter when the sun is out. If you’ve never seen trees turning from green to shades of red, orange and yellow in the fall, you’ve missed a sight to behold. There are hills in this county that I can be miles away from Lake Ontario yet get up on the top of them, I can see the array of colour and lake beyond. On a sunny day, it’s almost magical.

Was just talking to a friend in town here. She had some family gathered this weekend for Thanksgiving dinner. They are all fully vaccinated except for the young grandchild but they still followed health measures to be safest. This time last year, any gathering wasn’t allowed. So a bit of normal is coming back.

A Coloring Page to Celebrate Thanksgiving

I created a colouring page to give away the other day. Yes, I’ll be sharing it with you. I’ll add the link in a bit. Here’s what the page looks like.

I had something else I wanted to write about at the same time so I held off sending this out until I had the other item ready. It is ready but in the meantime, I’ve discovered something else and decided to share that as well.

The app I use to create projects like this colouring page has a default setting that records a time lapsed video of the project. I hadn’t looked at it before. Was playing around last night and started looking at some of them. Kind of liked them.

So, the video I’ve uploaded with this post is an edited version of the time lapsed video the app created. Now you can get the coloring page AND watch it come to life.

For those who have problems viewing 3Speak, here is the YouTube Link:

And last but not least, here is the link to get the coloring page.

This video is cool. Makes it easy to know the right colours to use especially for the fruits!

I love this time of the year because of fall, Thanksgiving and finally, Christmas! As the year winds down, we have a lot to be thankful for especially now that things are gradually becoming normal. Families can come together once more to celebrate without the fear of the virus. I hopeful it will get better with year.

Thanks for the colouring giveaway. It's a nice way to relax during this period.

Happy Thanksgiving! 😊

that's an interesting perspective. I'd not thought of the video as a colour guide before. Have fun colouring it. I"m working on a colouring book of street art.

what a fun thing to do for relaxation time - just like @kemmyb said! hehehee

you know who I'd love to see color this??? the master color artist - @snook

hehehe have you ever seen what she can do to a coloring page?!?!?! To me it looks like the professional illustrations that are in children's books - she is THAT good!!!

i'm serious.. actually - Snook... have you ever considered that????
you take a coloring page and BRING IT TO LIFE. I bet that you could freelance yourself to people who draw but need help coloring in! I know that @bluefinstudios actually has a friend that does this for his career!!! and they make good money!!!!

and i'm not kidding @snook... what you do with your coloring pages is nothing short of magic. I'm always transported! by the way - its been a month since i've been really online due to covid and being evacuated from fires... but be expecting a DM from me soon hehehehe

well - now that i've connected lots of people in Shadows post... LOL and had myself a nice little chat with everyone hahahahahahahahaha i guess i better be going LOLOL

excellent job Shadows - and yes - I do love that changing of the seasons - especially in the northeast. they seem to have the most beautiful display there - i miss that :)

Thanks @Dreemsteem, you got to see most of the process. I did do some editing :) ... mostly taking out redundant parts. You're right, @snook has become quite the colorist. I've looked at one or two of her coloring streams. Ooops.. came out of the shadows on that comment.

I love it!
This time of year is an amazing palette of colours, and I LOVE IT!
This is a cool video and Like @kemmyb says, the video makes a fun little guide, too, for colouring. I think I mentioned it before, but I cannot wait to get up to the mountains, for my Craft Fair this weekend, and get a chance to see Fall Leaves changing colour.

Thanks @bluefinstudios and this is an amazing palette of colours. It's probably the most colourful time for nature. Spring is interesting when flowers come out but there is just something magical about the fall and the green turning to colour.

Sounds like someone is going to be doing so photography this weekend? Capturing the array of colour.

The screen capture feature of that app is really cool! I love the music you chose for the video, too — it is very mellow and soothing! 😊

the feature is pretty cool. It also means I have a bunch of videos of work that I've done to use. I exported them all this morning and will decide which ones to use. Was watching some from doing the Zentangles as well as the coloring book I'm currently working on.
