Truly amazing DJI Mavic Air 2 drone test for VLOG creators!

Coming in late tonight, @hiveblocks/@threespeak. More drone tests. Took the Mavic Air 2 out to the park. @vermillionfox was off today, and we all stayed home. School in the morning. By late afternoon, my eyes were crossing working on @eos.detroit Proxy Prospectus translations. Now that I have this drone, I’m considering it as part of my expanding video capabilities. Before getting to the park, we all swung by @caffetto for their quiet reopening. The owner, Brent, was behind the counter. Only offering to-go orders, but I have to tell you, it felt good.

We got on the road and arrived at Theodore First Park, the same location @lovejoy and I had shot some previous VLOG’s for Hive and EOSIO. I had a better time seeing what the tracking/follow mode could do in regards to shooting VLOG’s on my own. You’ll see my genuine reaction to the drone’s ability to stay locked on, back up and still negotiate trees above and to either side. There were moments when branches were less than a foot from it. Crushed it. I used a LAV mic to sync audio this time as well.

On our walk back, @vermilionfox tried some macro photography with her new iPhone 11 Pro and Anazalea clip on macro lens. Super cool images. @guthrie was just happy to be outside with both of us, I think. We went off the trail and explored an area of small trees that came to a clearing at the base of a hill. He found a few four leave clovers and kept them. It really did end up being a perfect day and a necessary break from the confines of our quarantine home. The VLOG will tell more of the story than I can write, so check it out. Thanks for reading, and watching!

Hello man, been a while here, wow thing is, the positioning of the drone and how it responds to movement is amazing, I've never had a drone and imagine you being mic-ed the full audio sound and the pinpoint view is absolutely stunning. Shooting in such an environment is an absolute beauty

This is super cool! The fact that it was able to follow you into the woods like that without crashing is amazing. It's not so easy for people to navigate through woods like that with branches everywhere. Not having to hold a camera in your hand while you're talking must free up a lot of capacity for attention.

How much do you have to pay for that thing? You get it for €849 here but I'm not sure it's necessarily the same version.

That is pretty awesome! I am glad the drone is working out well for you! It is cool how drones have totally changed the way we do aerial and other photography now. It is so much more accessible to the general public. Way better than finding someone who owns a plane!
