KRIS KIND CHAIN REACTION #KETTENREAKTION2016

Through the eyes of a child, Kris Kind leads us through his wall painting at the chain reaction Artcampus in Solothurn (Switzerland). A three-dimensional street art comic installation was created on the site of the old Attisholz cellulose factory. From a distance, the work appears almost innocent. Perhaps also through the brightly flat, almost white painted wall. But already at the first approach the word "KASSA" in squeaky pink catches the eye. As if one still has an open bill to settle on the premises.

Every step I take reveals a story to me and I begin to read in the installation like in a comic book. The walls are decorated with minimalist stick figures and unambiguous texts. In this way, image and statement are combined to form a unity to represent complex processes of world events and world history. A stock curve, with the headline "VALUE PAPER MAN", eats its way up the stairs and ends in a gigantic pile of paper on the first floor. Tens of thousands of documents from various records of orders, shipping information, laboratory evaluations tell the story of a long past of the Attisholz cellulose factory. Some of these documents date back to the 1970s.

Through the crazy situation and the balance between distance and humour, the artist manages to invite the viewer to think. Truly a chain reaction.
