Drone Flight 2 - A bit of Punta de n'Amer castle
Day two with my toy and getting a little more brave with where I am flying it.
The plan was film more of Punta de n'Amer castle, known as Es Castellet, but there were a couple of families exploring and chilling out around the structure so I thought it would be a bit rude to test out some of the features of the drone today so close to them.
The castle is a pretty tiny fortified defence tower located on the coastline in the Sant Llorenç des Cardassar area and is at an altitude of 35 metres - about as high as it gets around this part of the coast.
It was built at the end of the 17th Century to counter pirate attacks and restored at the end of the 20th Century.
Although my flight map app said it was ok to fly around here, the area is a natural area of special interest and is protected. Anyway, I didn't catch much of it today, need to get closer next time.
I probably filmed about 10 minutes of footage today, but noticed that jerky and spinny movements generally look a bit crap. Most was cut, and even what's left could be much better with a skilled pilot and better camera work.
Anyway, it is lots of fun and the drone arrived home safely after it's second mission :)

Damn! I crashed mine on the tree, a gaint coastal redwood, 20 min into the first flight, never to return again, this summer! It was my daughter's birthday present! LOL

Please tell me, at what height are you shooting? It looks a long way up but I guess it's not that far? Does it register an altitude?
Also, does it have a return to user mode. Meaning can you press a button and have it land back where you are?
Also, where do you get your stock music from?

Anywhere between 30 and 200 feet so far, it has a limiter on height and distance for regulations, but you can tweak them at your own risk.
Yep, return to home is a feature and it will land very close from what I've seen on YouTube - I prefer to pick the exact spot though!
Music is just stuff I like, stolen from YouTube and edited in on the PC. Video editing is much easier on the phone.
Took it over the water today, bricking it but it was a success 😀
That's pretty high I guess and a long (expensive) fall should something go wrong. I'm liking the sound of this little drone more and more. They put unit as a good starter and it seems to be.
Speaking of starting...I began the process of getting one today meaning I mentioned it to Faith. I said you'd got one, showed her the videos and...The seed is planted! 🤣 I'm not sure how long it will take to grow, but I'll feed it, nurture it and before long...Drone!
I use www.bensound for music as I'm always afraid of catching copyright issues. It's stock music and a lot is free.
