Rice flour and coconut milk are affordable options that are usually used in Indonesia for steamed cakes. We can add many variations. Including coloring and filling.

I share with you the recipe for plant-based steamed cakes, “Rice Flour and Coconut Milk with Banana”. So, for the filling for these cakes, I used ripe bananas, but with the type of banana that has a harder texture than normal bananas which are eaten raw.

I used two color layers, but it still saves time. I just need to separate some of the dough in to add another different color.

The texture of this rice flour and coconut milk cake is dense and slightly chewy. The aroma is fragrant with coconut and the taste is very savory, due to the sprinkling of a little salt which makes the main flavor ingredient stronger.

You can try to decorate your food as well. Just take patient when you do plating. All you need is the nice plate or create your own plates such as from coconut shells and more
