Juan Gaviota es Pedro, María, Juana, Rebeca; cualquier ser humano que se atreve a romper con los paradigmas de la sociedad, de la familia o de cualquier organización. Aquel que decide un día buscar sus sueños; prepararse, educarse y hacer las cosas diferentes. Ese que recorre el mundo a través de su vuelo. Aprende una nueva vida y vuela con total libertad. Aun cuando se ve abandonado y sin el apoyo de su familia o de su bandada.
En el transcurso de los diálogos de Juan con la bandada, nos podemos dar cuenta que se le da importancia a valores como el amor. Ese amor que sentimos por algo que de verdad nos interesa explica que no hay barreras, y si las hay, estas pueden ser traspasadas. También que los sueños y metas pueden cumplidos con trabajo y dedicación.
Es un libro sencillo de leer. Es una manera práctica de enseñarnos el concepto de la libertad y de cómo seguir los sueños para que se hagan realidad.
Vemos reflejado el respeto a la familia, a la libertad y a lo importante que es la vida, como hizo Juan la Gaviota que quería aprender a mejorar su vuelo y vivir su vida. Él quería romper paradigmas de la sociedad y del entorno que lo rodeaba, y así descubre que hay muchas cosas más que subsistir y vivir cómodamente.
Hay seres que adivinan algo más que los que sus ojos pueden ver, que prefieren volar a comer. Juan sirve de guía para otras gaviotas. Todos ellos harán amistad duradera con él. Habrá también quienes volarán con Juan por lugares de encanto y aventura, y gozarán como él de una luminosa libertad.

La experiencia de Juan es inolvidable porque se atreve a luchar, aun cuando la sociedad lo juzga, lo señala con el dedo, y discrimina sin entender sus motivos. Se plasma el deseo que llevamos los seres humanos de la superación y de ser creativos.
Puedes ser pescador, albañil, carnicero o cualquier cosa. Pero como ser humano puedes romper ese paradigma familiar, decidir ser educador, escritor o médico. Lo que desees sin ninguna limitación.
En el entorno encontrarás quien te critique y ponga obstáculos para no dejarte avanzar. Si eres una persona de avanzada edad lo primero en tu círculo social es que alguien te dirá: “Loro viejo no aprende a hablar” o esta otra expresión: “A estas altura de tu vida ¿para qué?”.
O puede que te suceda como a Juan que se rompe un ala en pleno vuelo. Así nos pasa a todos los seres humanos cuando emprendemos una empresa nueva. Siempre hay caídas, pero lo que hay que hacer es levantarse y reanudar el vuelo para lograr los objetivos.
Siempre hay algo que aprender. Ha y que estar atentos como el filósofo griego llamado Diógenes que andaba con una lámpara buscando la luz a pleno día, porque según él andaba en la oscuridad y no lograba encontrar a alguien honesto.
A medida que Juan va logrando sus objetivos a fuerza de trabajo y tenacidad, nos enseña que debemos plantearnos cómo somos y qué es lo que queremos ser. También que debemos sembrar la semilla de la independencia, libertad y sueños que deseemos que se cumplan.

Por otra parte resalta la importancia y la necesidad de compartir, de enseñar lo poco o mucho que sepas. Cuando Juan se encontraba fuera en la bandada adquiriendo conocimientos y sabiduría, encontró diversas bandadas de gaviotas que también pasaban por situaciones similares, de las cuales adquirió todas las habilidades y destrezas por medio de sus experiencias para después convertirse en el maestro de distintas aves.
Disfrutó y compartió sus experiencias. Enseñó a otros a conseguir su destino y alcanzar lo que deseaban. Sobretodo les indicó que no existían límites y que se podía alcanzar los sueños y metas.

De la mano de Juan aprendemos que hay cosas que no sólo valen la pena, sino también que la vida es muy importante vivirla a plenitud, sin preocuparte por lo cotidiano de tus alrededores.
Es sumamente importante no juzgar a las personas y abrir nuestro entendimiento a los cambios de paradigmas.
A medida que fui sumergiéndome en el mundo de Juan, llegué a amarlo con sus defectos y desaciertos. Lo recuerdo con mucho amor, ya que estaba pasando por una etapa gris. Necesité ayuda y acudí al Curso Control Mental con el Método Silva, en los años 89 o 90. Ahí me recomendaron la lectura de este libro.
Cabe destacar, que había visto leído el libro y visto la película. Me fascino desde que vi a Juan, creo que fue amor a primera vista.

Escritor estadounidense, ganador de varios premios de literatura. En sus libros plasma la necesidad de ponerse límites. Su novela Juan Salvador Gaviota fue llevada al cine en el año 1973.

Juan Gaviota is Juan, Pedro, María, Rebeca; any human being who dares to break with the paradigms of society, the family or any organization.
The one who decides one day to pursue his dreams; to prepare himself, to educate himself and to do things differently.
The one who travels the world through his flight. He learns a new life and flies with total freedom. Even when he finds himself abandoned and without the support of his family or his flock.
In the course of Juan's dialogues with the flock, we can realize that values such as love are given importance.
That love that we feel for something that really interests us explains that there are no barriers, and if there are, they can be crossed. Also, that dreams and goals can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
It is a simple book to read. It is a practical way to teach us the concept of freedom and how to follow our dreams to make them come true.
We see reflected the respect for family, freedom and the importance of life, as Juan la Gaviota did when he wanted to learn how to improve his flight and live his life. He wanted to break paradigms of society and the environment that surrounded him, and so he discovered that there are many more things than subsisting and living comfortably.
There are beings that guess something more than what their eyes can see, that prefer to fly rather than eat.
Juan serves as a guide for other seagulls. All of them will make lasting friendships with him. There will also be those who will fly with Juan through places of enchantment and adventure, and enjoy like him luminous freedom.

Juan's experience is unforgettable because he dares to fight, even when society judges him, points the finger at him, and discriminates without understanding his motives. It embodies the desire we human beings have for self-improvement and creativity.
You can be a fisherman, a bricklayer, a butcher, or anything else. But as a human being, you can break that familiar paradigm, decide to be an educator, a writer, or a doctor. Whatever you want without any limitation.
In the environment, you will find those who criticize you and put obstacles to prevent you from advancing. If you are an elderly person the first thing in your social circle is that someone will say to you: "Old parrot does not learn to speak" or this other expression: "At this point in your life, what for?
Or it may happen to you as it happened to Juan who broke his wing in mid-flight. This is what happens to all of us human beings when we start a new enterprise. There are always falls, but what you have to do is to get up and resume the flight to achieve your goals.
There is always something to learn. We have to be attentive like the Greek philosopher called Diogenes who walked with a lamp looking for the light in the middle of the day because according to him he was walking in the dark and could not find someone honest.
As Juan achieves his goals through hard work and tenacity, he teaches us that we must ask ourselves how we are and what we want to be. Also that we must sow the seeds of independence, freedom, and dreams that we wish to be fulfilled.

On the other hand, it highlights the importance and the need to share, to teach the little or much that you know. When Juan was out in the flock acquiring knowledge and wisdom, he found different flocks of gulls that were also going through similar situations, from which he acquired all the skills and abilities through his experiences to later become the teacher of different birds.
He enjoyed and shared his experiences. He taught others to achieve their destiny and reach what they desired. Above all, he showed them that there were no limits and that they could achieve their dreams and goals.

From Juan's hand, we learn that there are things that are not only worthwhile but also that life is very important to live it to the fullest, without worrying about the everyday things around you.
It is extremely important not to judge people and to open our understanding to paradigm shifts.
As I immersed myself in Juan's world, I came to love him with his faults and mistakes. I remember him with a lot of love, as I was going through a gray stage. I needed help and went to the Silva Method Mind Control Course in the '89 or '90s. There I was recommended to read this book.
It is worth mentioning that I had read the book and seen the movie. I was fascinated from the moment I saw Juan, I think it was love at first sight.
