(ESP-ENG) Reseña de libro - Un asunto pendiente // Book review - Unfinished business.
Hello friends, good vibes everyone.
Photo of my property!
In the previous wave of reviews I did a few weeks ago, I touched on several Katzenbach books, the best or the ones I liked the most. This time I return with another group of specimens, four to be exact, which I also liked but not as much as the previous ones. Still I decided to put them on my blog and talk a little about them.
As I said, John Katzenbach is one of my favorite authors and this is due to the ability he has to turn a story into a true thriller full of suspense, psychosis and even anxiety. His books are capable of immersing you in such a way that it is very difficult to stop reading their pages to the point that you want to finish reading as soon as possible. With that being said, let's talk a bit about "Unfinished Business."
- Resumen // Summary.
This story begins with a rather happy and carefree family where Megan and Duncan are the parents of three children, two girls and a boy. She is a real estate agent and he is a banker who owns a very nice house. Everything in the present is perfect, if we want to give it a name until ghosts from the past begin to haunt and knock on the Richards' door.
It turns out that in the 60s these two parents were political activists, apparently that was normal and everyday in those times, and despite the fact that time has passed, it is clear that they did things of which they are not very proud today.
As I told you, this couple is different because they decided to go much further than normal and all thanks to a charming woman who knew how to convince them, who called herself "Tania". Tania was the leader of a very radical group called "Phoenix Brigade" who were setting up the bases to achieve a robbery which supposedly had to be simple and without setbacks.
Everything changed when that plan completely failed and since that day 18 years have passed. Time in which Tania from jail has planned what will be her revenge since she blames the Richards for her misfortune and for what happened the day of the robbery. She is enjoying it and her revenge will be cruel and above all cold.
Opinión.
Let's see, if I didn't include this book in the first batch, it was for something. The book is not bad, to pass the time and more if you have nothing to read it is more than good but up there. There is something that Katzenbach has which is a constant and it is the great ability that he possesses to enter the minds of criminals, it is impressive how well he knows the minds of these people and that is what makes his books captivating.
The premise of the story is good, sometimes it is very flat and without depth but from the above it is not something that is going to force you to stop reading in addition to being read extremely fast. The best character is undoubtedly Tania, a woman of character who is well developed where she shows how determined she is in order to see her revenge fulfilled, because yes, in spite of everything Tania is one more victim in this story.
Anyway, a good book with which I assure you you will not get bored, not the best but I do recommend it. It is very difficult to get a bad copy of Katzenbach, I really tell you. Some may be lazier than others but never bad. This story is tense and full of intrigue, something very characteristic of this author. A 7/10. Read it, because I repeat, there is no bad book by Katzenbach.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
Well my people for today is everything, I hope you liked it.
¡A hug to all, we read in the next one!

Saludos!!!
