A story of transformation always impresses us. One of those early stories for me was The Ugly Duckling by Hans Andersen. I remember I couldn't understand well how a duck became a swan, but I was happy for the little bird. I believe this simple story carries a tremendous value and lesson for children and adults alike.

The ugly duckling realizes he is a swan which was the reason he never found a home or was accepted at all. Sometimes a prince can't escape who they are. It doesn't matter which egg we come from, the virtues of our soul will show.

I love this story. I believe in a simple way they can help us value things in us. It can promote acceptance. I think is a mandatory story for children as they will face so many challenges for belonging and being accepted through life.
