The author of the famous saga Hush hush; brings us this time an incredible story a little more realistic. With secrets, out of control, fury, revenge, romance and uncomfortable situations. Narrated by the protagonist of the story gives us a guide through a couple of events that happened in her life that led her to be an important part of a case of justice.
The way in which the author is telling us this story you will see that it is a way in which we can identify with the reading; fluid, simple and with extremely understandable words. Immersing us in a place different from our environment, where we will not only find a bit of drama in it but also some action and suspense. Diverse are the emotions that control us as the plot unfolds and we join the written lines.
It is understandable that after being chosen as the main witness in the trial of a criminal drug dealer, our protagonist (Stella Gordon) is filled with fear every second of her life as she is in danger of being found.
She thinks her life from then on is a total and complete lie, she must be part of a witness protection program in a small place called Thunder Basin, a town in Nebraska. Stella's mission is to stay undercover, no one must learn of her whereabouts or there will be terrible consequences.
For Stella it seems to be an easy but very scary mission, living forced in an unknown place and in constant fear of being found and failing is not the dream of any sane woman. Thunder Basin is a safe place for Stella or at least that's what the officers told her and she is afraid to reveal any details that will make her place of comfort become chaotic. Especially after meeting a boy special to her; Chet Falconer, to whom she wishes to entrust her most precious secret but for security reasons she must be wary of everyone, without exemption.
With all the protection witnesses receive, they still run the risk of being discovered and in Stella's case it is no different. A troubling event, a mistake in a decision made by Stella puts her life in the danger she was trying so hard to run away from. Fear is the most faithful companion in Stella's life and now she will have to deal with more problems and conflicts than she imagined because of letting herself be guided by heated and irrational decisions.
Second work I've read by this author and it is equally entertaining and amazing. She turns a story that would be a sort of cliché into something unique and original, a somewhat realistic and special story.
The story teaches us what we should all know; lies, no matter how small they are, no matter how much they are said to be for protection, are the worst allies because sooner or later they end up being discovered and placed in the light, making everyone know them and bringing with them their consequences, without having any return. It is that carrying the weight of a lie is often as great as lifting mountains with one hand.

La autora de la famosa saga Hush hush; nos trae esta vez una increíble historia un poco más realista. Con secretos, descontrol, furia, venganza, romances y situaciones incomodas. Narrada por la protagonista de la historia nos da una guía por un par de sucesos ocurridos en su vida que la llevaron a ser parte importante de un caso de la justicia.
La forma en la que la autora nos va relatando esta historia verán que es una manera en la que nos podemos identificar con la lectura; fluida, sencilla y con palabras sumamente comprensibles. Sumergiéndonos en un lugar distinto al nuestro entorno, donde no solo encontraremos un poco de drama en ella sino también algo de acción y suspenso. Diversas son las emociones que nos controlan al cabo que transcurre la trama y que unimos las líneas escritas.
Es comprensible que luego de ser elegida como testigo principal en el juicio de un delincuente traficante de drogas, nuestra protagonista (Stella Gordon) esté llena de miedo cada segundo de su vida puesto que corre peligro de ser encontrada.
Ella piensa que su vida a partir de ese entonces es una total y completa mentira, debe de ser parte de un programa de protección de testigos en un pequeño lugar llamado Thunder Basin, un pueblo de Nebraska. La misión de Stella es permanecer encubierta, nadie debe enterarse de su paradero o habrá terribles consecuencias.
Para Stella parece ser una misión fácil pero muy aterradora, vivir obligada en un sitio desconocido y con miedo constante de ser encontrada y fracasar no es el sueño de ninguna mujer cuerda. Thunder Basin es un lugar seguro para Stella o al menos eso le dijeron los oficiales y tiene miedo de revelar algún detalle que haga que su lugar de confort se vuelva caótico. En especial luego de conocer a un chico especial para ella; Chet Falconer, al cual desea confiarle su más preciado secreto pero por motivos de seguridad ella debe de desconfiar de todos, sin exención alguna.
Con toda la protección que reciben los testigos aun así corren el peligro de ser descubiertos y en el caso de Stella no es diferente. Un acontecimiento problemático, un error en una decisión cometida por Stella hace que su vida corra el peligro por el que tanto trataba de huir. El miedo es el acompañante más fiel en la vida de Stella y ahora tendrá que lidiar con más problemas y conflictos de los que se imaginaba a causa de dejarse guiar por decisiones acaloradas e irracionales.
Segunda obra que leo de esta autora y es igual de entretenida y asombrosa. Convierte una historia que sería una especia de cliché en algo único y original, una historia un tanto realista y especial.
La historia nos deja la enseñanza que todos debemos de saber; las mentiras por muy pequeñas que sean, por mucho que se digan que es por protección son las peores aliadas ya que tarde o temprano terminan descubriéndose y colocándose en la luz haciendo que todos las sepan y traen con ello sus consecuencias, sin tener un regreso alguno. Es que cargar con el peso de una mentira es muchas veces tan grande como levantar montañas con una mano.
