Hi, how are you? Thanks to my beautiful friend @mariart1 I have arrived here. Following the extraordinary initiative proposed by ocd and hive-book-club I sign up to participate as follows:

Do you believe in signs? I do.

We all choose which book to read, don't we, but this time it was totally different because the book chose me, why do I say that? Simple, I was sitting in the living room and I was looking at a shelf of old books that my aunt had, some destroyed and others covered with dust, then I asked myself what can I find there, they are just boring books, the only thing I can achieve is an allergy. Discouraged by everything I got up from the furniture and turned my back to the bookshelf to leave, then something very curious happened, I heard a small knock behind me, when I turned to investigate I realized that a book had fallen to the floor, I smiled perversely and said: this is a sign.

The contest presents three questions in which I must choose one. These are as follows:
(1) If you had to make a movie based on a book, which book would you choose and why?
(2) Has a book ever transformed you and your life?
(3) What is your favorite book and why?
Automatically as I read them I opted for option number (3) What is your favorite book and why?

Before going a bit deeper on the subject, I will be very honest, I would be lying if I indicate that I have a favorite book, since it would be difficult for me to choose among several, but I take advantage of this contest to give prominence to one in particular that captivated me from the beginning. Also because it became my companion when I had no electricity, because at the time I started reading it, the city where I currently live (Maracaibo) was affected by the blackout that occurred throughout the country. (Venezuela) It seemed that time passed slowly, there was no signal, we could not charge cell phones among others, and we lost communication for days with our relatives abroad.
Everything had become so strange to me, from the gas lamps, sleeping outside our rooms or houses because of the heat and drinking fresh water. I felt like we had gone back in time to when my grandparents were children, where there was no internet, television and the only entertainment was observing the surroundings, listening to the singing of nocturnal animals and going to bed early. Seriously, I was going crazy with boredom.

I would like to clarify that I don't want to cause any spoilers, so I won't go into too much detail about the book.
My favorite book is Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days. And this is for two powerful reasons.

The first, because it came to me in a magical way as I explained before, it is light, simple and ideal for when you don't get what to read and you need to awaken your imagination. In addition, the novel is a lot of fun, full of action and adventure,
And the second because of its two main characters, since they are totally different. On the one hand we have an imperturbable man, millionaire and bachelor, Mr. Phileas Fogg who is used to his routine in a precise way, he is super punctual and makes up everything with money, but deep down he is a good man. On the other we meet the ingenious Jean Passepartout Phileas' new butler or assistant who chooses the job for a special reason, Mr. Fogg is a quiet man and does not think of doing crazy things like his former masters. He thought it was the perfect job, not realizing that it was just the beginning of many crazy things to come. Passepartout is the cause of many hours of laughter for me, this character is my favorite I loved him and I still love him, he also becomes an essential element in the story, although he makes many mistakes and things happen to him, he always comes out of everything very well.

It all starts...

At the Reform Club, where some millionaires meet and place bets for fun. Fogg, so self-confident and intelligent, discusses a topic and tries to convince his companions that it is possible to go around the world in 80 days, and that he is willing to bet his fortune that he can do it in time, tempted by the juicy amount at stake they all decide to accept.
It should be noted that at first Passepartout, as Passepartout is also known, does not want to travel with his new master, he is reluctant, but the wily Phileas pushes him to adventure and gradually as they travel and travel, he learns to enjoy the landscapes and places they travel, while his master only focuses on winning his bet.
Finally, I recommend the book for the contrast of these two characters, even the way the author describes the journey and the means of transport they must use to go around the world makes it more fun and interesting. I assure you that Verne manages to transport you to all the places they travel.
With my beloved Passepartout I suffered, laughed and cried. I loved Around the World in 80 Days and that's why it became one of my favorite books.
You won't know what's going to happen with the bet until you get to the last page....

Note: when I finished it I did some research on it and found out that back then it was highly criticized for its comparisons, they even considered that it was not good literature because of some long and unnecessary narrations.

I hope you can read it and enjoy it as much as I did, again I recommend it.

¡Hola! ¿Qué tal? Gracias a mi guapa amiga @mariart1 he llegado hasta acá. Siguiendo la extraordinaria iniciativa propuesta por ocd y hive-book-club me apunto a participar de la siguiente manera:

¿Crees en las señales? Yo sí.
Todos elegimos qué libro leer ¿no?, pero esta vez fue totalmente diferente porque el libro me eligió a mí, ¿por qué lo digo? Sencillo, estaba sentada en la sala y miraba una estante de libros viejos que tenía mi tía, algunos destruidos y otros cubiertos de polvo, entonces me pregunté ¿qué puedo encontrar ahí? son sólo libros aburridos, lo único que puedo lograr es una alergia. Desanimada por todo me levanté del mueble y le di la espalda a la estantería para marcharme, entonces ocurrió algo muy curioso, oí un pequeño golpe detrás de mí, cuando giré para investigar me di cuenta de que un libro había caído al suelo, sonreí perversamente y dije: esto es una señal.

El concurso presenta tres preguntas en la cual debo elegir una. Estas son las siguientes:
(1) Si tuvieras que hacer una película basada en un libro, ¿qué libro elegirías y por qué?
(2) ¿Alguna vez un libro te ha transformado a ti y a tu vida?
(3) ¿Cuál es tu libro favorito y por qué?
Automáticamente al leerlas opté por la opción número (3) ¿Cuál es tu libro favorito y por qué?

Antes de profundizar un poco sobre el asunto, seré muy sincera, mentiría si indico que tengo un libro favorito, ya que para mí sería difícil elegir entre varios, pero aprovecho este concurso para dar protagonismo a uno en concreto que me cautivó desde el principio. También porque se convirtió en mi compañero cuando no tenía electricidad, pues en esa época que empecé a leerlo, la ciudad en la que vivo actualmente (Maracaibo) estaba afectada por el apagón que se produjo en todo el país. (Venezuela) Parecía que el tiempo transcurría lento, no había señal, tampoco podíamos cargar teléfonos móviles entre otros, y perdimos la comunicación por días con nuestros familiares del extranjero.
Todo se me había hecho tan extraño, desde las lámparas de gas, dormir fuera de nuestras habitaciones o casas por el calor y tomar agua fresca. Sentía que habíamos retrocedido en el tiempo a la época en la que mis abuelos eran niños, donde no había internet, televisión y el único entretenimiento era observar el entorno, escuchar el canto de los animales nocturnos y acostarse temprano. En serio, me estaba volviendo loca de aburrimiento.

Quisiera aclarar que no quiero causar ningún spoiler, así que no entraré en muchos detalles sobre el libro.
Mi libro favorito es: LA VUELTA AL MUNDO EN 80 DÍAS de Julio Verne. Y esto es por dos poderosas razones.

La primera, porque me llegó de forma mágica como ya expliqué antes, es ligero sencillo e ideal para cuando no consigues qué leer y necesitas despertar tu imaginación. Además, la novela es muy divertida, llena de acción y aventuras,
Y la segunda por sus dos personajes principales, ya que son totalmente diferentes. Por un lado tenemos a un hombre imperturbable, millonario y soltero, el señor Phileas Fogg quien está acostumbrado a su rutina de forma precisa, es súper puntual y lo compone todo con dinero, pero en el fondo es un buen hombre. Por el otro nos encontramos con el ingenioso Jean Passepartout el nuevo mayordomo o ayudante de Phileas quien elige el trabajo por una razón especial, el señor Fogg es un hombre tranquilo y no piensa en hacer locuras como sus antiguos amos. Él pensaba que era el trabajo perfecto, sin darse cuenta que solo era el principio de muchas locuras. Passepartout es el causante de muchas horas de risas para mí, este personaje es mi favorito lo amé y lo sigo amando, además se convierte en un elemento esencial en la historia, aunque comete muchos errores y le suceden cosas, siempre sale muy bien de todo.

Todo comienza…

En el Reform Club, donde se reúnen algunos millonarios y hacen apuestas para divertirse. Fogg, tan seguro de sí mismo e inteligente, discute un tema y trata de convencer a sus compañeros de que es posible dar la vuelta al mundo en 80 días, y que está dispuesto en apostar su fortuna que puede hacerlo a tiempo, tentados por la jugosa cantidad en juego todos deciden aceptar.
Cabe destacar que al principio Picaporte como se le conoce también a Passepartout no quiere viajar con su nuevo amo, se muestra reacio, pero el astuto Phileas le empuja a la aventura y poco a poco a medida que viajan y viajan, el aprende a disfrutar de los paisajes y lugares que recorren, mientras que su amo sólo se centra en ganar su apuesta.

Para finalizar, recomiendo el libro por el contraste de estos dos personajes, incluso la forma como el autor describe el viaje y los medio de trasporte que deben utilizar para darle la vuelta al mundo lo hace más divertido e interesante. Te aseguro que Verne logra trasladarte por todos los lugares que ellos recorren.
Con mi querido Passepartout sufrí, reí y lloré. Me encantó La vuelta al mundo en 80 días y por eso se convirtió en uno de mis libros favoritos.
No sabrás qué va a pasar con la apuesta hasta que llegues a la última página....

Nota: cuando la terminé investigué un poco sobre ella y descubrí que por aquel entonces fue muy criticada por sus comparaciones, incluso consideraban que no era buena literatura debido a algunas narraciones extensas e innecesarias.

Espero que puedan leerlo y disfrutarlo tanto como yo, nuevamente lo recomiendo.
