The January Rush

Welcome back to January (again). Every year, I start off with a lot of errands. This goes from the cars' safety inspections to some bookkeeping before the tax season. The hiatus usually lasts until April before leveling off as the summer approaches.

I decided to write this post like the multitude of shoe-horning nonsense I have seen in some of the posts. You know, tag a gazillion tribes because they mentioned sports or something.

Some of the things I have dealt with recently include a minor ant problem in the basement. I have tried to use some commercial bait traps, but the problem seemed to persist. Don't get my wrong, I did notice the numbers going down, but I still notice them around.

So, I decided to try out a homemade borax ant trap I found online. It turned out pretty good. I stopped seeing the ants coming in after 48 hours. Given how hard those little guys work, it would not surprise me if they decide to go for another invasion.

What you see in the pictures there are cotton balls soaked with the concoction. The idea is that ants would take them back to the nest while dying slow and toxic deaths. If they manage to feed their queen with it, she'll die too, and thus destroying the colony. Best part, you won't have to spend more than $10 for some Borax and sugar.

Other than that, I got to spend some time to clean up the area a bit. To be honest, this is a persistent issue when you have food storage. Critters are going to try to get to them if you have the tiniest leak anywhere.

Now, I'm anticipating silverfish jumping out at me when I clean the library.

In other areas of life, I still go to the gym, but need to expand my core muscle workouts. There has been more people at the gym lately, most likely due to their new year's resolutions. So, I will see new faces at places I go for the next several weeks.

I did get myself an IRA as talked about in previous posts. So far, so good. I'm keeping everything diversified while I continue to do what I already do. In a technical sense, I have kept my resolutions.

What else should I do? I've been thinking about getting a new suit. The last time I did was back in 2013. It's been a while and I need to do a bit research into it. At the same time, it sounds like an expensive endeavor since I already replaced my phone a week ago. I may also need to find a tailor to make some altercations. Well, one step at a time I suppose.

Steem? What's happening on this strange platform? A pump is always appreciated and helps the morale. While everyone was celebrating, I'm sitting here struggling with Steem Engine.

They don't have a multi-million dollar budget, but I would like something that works. Do something with that multi-thousand dollar budget. I guess we get what we pay for.

Speaking of Steem Engine, I need to find better ways to manage all those shittokens. It's getting more and more out of hand as the time goes on. Sometimes, I am not super stoked about the prospect of SMTs. It feels as if there would only be more chaos that comes with their introduction. But, it likely can't get any worse than having a typical wallet looking like this.

Well, we hope for the best and let the market does its thing. Sometimes, I want to shill the tribe tokens I own, but I'm not sure if I'm bothered. It's too much work.
