These are the photos I took during my camping trip in a Ba Na ethnic minority village. This village is located deep in the Kon Chu Rang nature reserve of Gia Lai province in the highlands of Vietnam. After a good night's sleep, I opened the door of the tent and witnessed a beautiful view as the local buffalo were grazing on the field where I was camping. According to my count, there are more than 50 buffaloes in the herd. According to the local people, they raise buffalo for meat and their famous dish is the buffalo meat in the kitchen. To preserve the buffalo meat for long-term consumption, they put the buffalo meat on a high shelf in the kitchen, and the buffalo meat will be cooked gradually thanks to the smoke rising from the kitchen. The buffalos here are raised in a completely natural way. They are not given any kind of food except for the grass around the village and drink water from the stream near the village. Local people only lead the buffalo herd to the field and go home. Another interesting thing is that this is the common buffalo herd of the whole village, not just anyone, so everyone in the village shares the task of taking care of the buffalo herd. Watching the scene of buffalo grazing in the fields gives me a sense of peace along with sipping a cup of coffee. This is an experience that is not always available to people living in cities like me.

"Have a nice day ❤️"

Nice photos! I've not tried buffalo meat. In the Philippines they use buffalos as a helper in the farms.

In Vietnam, people use buffalos to plow the rice field, too. And many people eat buffalo meat.
