Shadow Hunters 169: Stay At Home

Staying Indoors

We are already starting to experience the scorching desert summer heat so unlike in the previous weeks when we could still manage to go to the beach or take some leisurely afternoon walks, we mostly just stay indoors these past days.

Should staying at home limit our ability to get some good shadow shots? I hope the following photos will tell you "not". ☺️

Where's The Sun?

Thankfully we get some good sunshine coming through our glass door and windows late in the afternoon.

We have a small apartment that the light goes all the way through the end of the walls. Right, let's take some photos!

As the sunlight hits one of the wardrobes, it creates this solid shadow that I know will just fit just fine for this post's theme. If you will watch this latest video of my children, @divinekids, this wall is the same wall where they measure and keep tabs of their heights.

Shadow Hunting at the Dining Table

The sunlight had also created some nice shadows at the dining table so I played around a bit and hopefully got some worthy shots.

Dining Chair

What's a dining table without food? Oh well, there was nothing much, but at least there were these two bananas that were left that yes, made a so-so subject for shadows. I asked for hub's thoughts and he actually suggested this photo as my contest entry but I think I'll not go with that. 😜

Contest Entry?

Well I think the banana shadow was a bit meh, so I tried to be a bit more "creative" in capturing shadows. How about we use the same technique as in the garden edition? That actually was quite effective, my entry photo was chosen as one of the winners for Round 167.

So here I placed a trivet against the sun and I was able to capture this beautiful pattern. Honestly, I had to google what's that term for the "pot coaster", and learned a new term today - - "trivet"

Patterns.

Warning: Next photo is "NSFW" LOL

I'll leave this last photo to your imagination. 🙈 I had to take a couple of shots until I settled with this one below. At first I was only taking a photo of the shadow but it really looks odd hence I added the object making the shadow. 👀

I was a bit hesitant to add this in today's post, but if you're seeing it then it means that I did. 😂😁

Alright! I made it to the bottom of this post. I hope you also did. 😍 It was hard to decide which photo to take as my entry this week, but I think I'd go for the dining chair.

I really enjoyed this shadow hunting as usual. With less time spent outdoors I also have less opportunities to catch some shadows hence the need to level up my creativity as well.

Until the next shadow hunting adventure! Stay safe people!
