One of my favorite architects, meet Luis Barragán / in spanish too
Hello architecture community, I am currently somewhat inactive for a job, I am also taking new photography material and at the same time experimenting with a new use of color, I am also projecting a great architecture project, then I will tell you more about this great topic . In the same way I bring you a different post, this is about one of my favorite architects so that you can meet the architect Luis Barragan, a great teacher and innovator of the twentieth century, a genius in the use of light, perspectives and color without doubt, giving a very unique identity and language to its architecture. Knowing about architects is essential for development and essential learning and today I want to share it.

Luis Barragan was born in 1902 in Jalisco, Mexico, he was a Mexican architect who was historically marked by the relevance of his work, the master of light and color. He has even been the only Mexican to win the Pritzker Prize, the equivalent of the Nobel Prize for Architecture. Barragan graduated as an engineer and passionate about the area began to travel through Europe, he met neither more nor less than the genius of Le Corbusier
_ "Silence. In the gardens and homes designed by me, I have always tried to allow the placid murmur of silence inside, and in my fountains, silence sings." _
A few words to reflect and I fully believe that this architect deserves that we see his work and his good ideas and criteria in his architecture.
Barragan made different types of works, here I show some of their houses and their fantastic projections. A particularity of Barragan is being the director of spatial sensations, in which he uses channeling spaces in which he reduces the dimensions and then expands you when you go out to larger spaces, this and in addition to creating routes in which light is pursued and generated the charisma you want depending on the environment. Surely it can take a lifetime to learn to use light in this way. Barragan uses transparency, visual continuity between exterior and interior, colors and the omission of superficial elements to the point of making his style an art form. He also uses the walls in a compositional way, without ornaments and using the straight line but functionally used to restrict visuals, transparency, visual continuity between exterior and interior, colors and the omission of surface elements to the point of making his style. with textures and shapes an art form.

Undoubtedly seek to create emotions using the use of color and these variables to generate views in the characteristics of the spaces that are projected. Currently I try to learn more about its architecture to improve my architecture and better develop all these issues of controlling light and sensory impact as a director of the work, achieving that quality in detail like Barragan. It should be borne in mind that a space that is too bright can be negative as a poorly lit or lightly deficient space.

Usually, I'm not too fond of modern architecture, but the added color gives life to Luis Barragan’s designs.😍
It is good to appreciate these things, I understand you, for example I do not agree with generating so many transitory spaces so closed, it makes you lose m2 but I still do not have the experience of this teacher haha.
I like the positive and negative spaces using color. I had to edit this because I thought I was responding to another post lololol
Thank you for celebrating and highlighting Architect Luis Barragan's works. He uses colors and design elements in a powerful way. I'm not familiar with him and his style so I'm glad you wrote about him here.
I invite you to write also whenever you want about some or some architect references in your region, it would be interesting
Cool idea!
Oh his style seems very interesting and vibrant.
Yes that's how it is
Oh! Definitely a great artist, he captures art in his architecture with great splendor. You have to know how to play with light and color and Luis Barragán succeeds with perfection.
And it's interesting that, understanding and manipulating light is a very impressive job.
Yes, I saw some of his works in Mexico City and they are great, indeed!
Oh how cool, what works did you know?
Hello @feiderman, just dropping by to congratulate you.
