An architect who dreams of a different world, the master Fruto Vivas / In spanish too
Greetings to all guys, I present a publication in order to enrich us a little more and continue growing. I share in this publication one of the most famous architects in my country, the so-called Fruto Vivas. As you go down this post you will see multiple leftovers made by him and I will narrate a little of his career to give you the starting point in case you later want to further investigate his life or some of his projects.
_ "The great task we have as professional architects is to be at the service of those who need it most. I want to draw the attention of my colleagues, architecture cannot be used to enrich us, but to bring happiness to the people." It was a thought of this architect that was also demonized by the architect of populism.

His full name is José Fructoso Vivas Vivas, he was born in 1928 in Tachira, in Venezuela. His best-known works are the Venezuelan pavilion at Expo Hanover 2000, the Táchira Club in Caracas, the Iglesia del Santo, the Tree to Live (1990) houses in Lechería, the Táchira Club (1955), in Caracas, and the Divine Church. Redentor, in Táchira.
In the first photos I annex the residential building "tree to live" which seeks to create an architecture that connects us with nature. To understand this work, you have to understand Fruto's thought, “We were wrong to consider Fruto's work as if it were conventional architecture, which follows the laws of international evolution. The soul of Vivas is structured on two heterogeneous areas: first, the firm conviction that architecture is to build and that therefore it must be buildable; and on the other hand that every human act is political and that of building is extremely political ”. In this project it is separated horizontally from the ground to create gardens, by means of a vertical tower it is connected to the different levels of social housing. Fruto sees this project as hanging scaffolding in which he proposes as a concept so that we can live between birds and butterflies, without a doubt that he is a dreamer. This notably questioned the current mode of architecture and this deepened him more in his investigations of social architecture, biomaterials, sustainability and social purposes to improve the quality of life.

This talented architect worked several works with the Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer, here I have a video of them together:
An excellent piece of information is that the Expo Hanover is the project that is currently called the Flor de Venezuela (the building that is shaped like a flower). This was a project that was carried out in a universal architecture exhibition in Germany in the year 2000 and after it was rebuilt as a permanent construction in the Lara State, currently this project is heritage. I visit this project is interesting, steel predominates and has a shape and the idea of the flower is incredible. The use of this building is culture, you have multiple spaces for exhibition and as you go up the floors, it has a route with a steel ramp in which you have a view of the landscape and it is a very sensitive route, on the top floors are terraces roofed with a viewpoint of the city and you can see more closely the steel details of the flower petals. As you will see at night the petals rise and it has an incredible light effect. I read that shortly after having built this building, it had a technology (currently damaged) that traces the humidity levels in the environment to be able to anticipate when it would rain and automatically close the petals, or in other words close the roof of the edifice.
