Meat lovers unite – it's Samgyeopsal o'clock!

Today is our 130th month of love, and for almost 11 years of our relationship, it's been our routine to celebrate it over food. And since we've loved Korean foods, Samgyeopsal has been our first choice for our monthly date.

When my boyfriend says, "Let's have Samgyeopsal for dinner," I instantly picture everything, including the grill, side dishes, different meats, and the restaurant. The "unlimited meat grilling" in restaurants excites me.

Filipinos have loved this dish from Korea for years, and at first, I did not understand why. I just began to understand the addiction of many Filipinos to the dish when I tried it. We adore Samgyeopsal because it is so special to us for the following reasons:

The term "unlimited" sounds alluring. Furthermore, the cost is well worth it. An unlimited meat package typically costs PHP 200 (4$). The meat is given to you raw; it needs to be cooked. Additionally, the side dishes are reasonably priced. It's worth it for some people who can eat a lot, but most people can't take full advantage of it. Samgyeopsal businesses are flourishing because of this.

Excellent side dishes are served. Because cooking takes time, when we cook at home, we typically only prepare one or two dishes at a time. These restaurants' side dishes are tempting because, as Filipinos, we only sometimes see so many different flavors on one plate. It feels like a "fiesta" when we eat so much in one sitting!

The cost is reasonable. The price is just correct for a top-notch Korean meal experience. Since the package is unlimited, you don't need to worry about the price. Your priorities are preparing food, enjoying it, and spending time with your partner.

The pleasure of the experience. I've witnessed non-cooks at Samgyeopsal restaurants become expert grillers. My partner and I get emotional when we grill meat together at a table. It conveys a feeling of love and unity. We like talking about life and exchanging stories like this one, especially the new ones. We can talk to each other and be vulnerable through grilling, which makes our relationship deeper than ever.

Large-scale displays of affection can surprise and delight your partner, but small acts of kindness can bolster your relationship and provide emotional stability over time.

Little acts of kindness you do for one another daily in relationships help you feel content, safe, and close to your partner. These modest actions demonstrate to your partner how much you value them and require little time or money.

I'm thrilled and appreciative of today, and I will always be grateful for the everyday love we shared.

I plan to go on more Samgyeopsal dates with him in the coming months and years. For us, it was an excellent month-long date. Not only is our stomach filled, but our hearts are also filled with more love and happiness.
