Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una de mis series favoritas del 2020😊 que estoy segura les va a encantar. Es una serie súper reciente estrenada el 5 de diciembre del año pasado por tanto, pueden ir ya mismo a buscarla en Netflix y sacar sus propias conclusiones.

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite series of 2020 that I am sure you will love. It's a super recent series that premiered on December 5th last year so you can go get it right now on Netflix and draw your own conclusions.

Personalmente cuando me enteré que iba a estar disponible en esa plataforma me emocioné mucho ya que en primer lugar tiene que ver totalmente con lo que hago (la música) y además, que soy muy fan del tema principal, así que sin más palabras les presento a "Selena" la serie😍.

Personally when I found out that it was going to be available on that platform I was very excited because first of all it has to do totally with what I do (the music) and also, that I am a big fan of the main theme, so without further words I present "Selena" the series.

De entrada les comparto que dicha serie ha sido bastante criticada por muchos motivos, en primer lugar por la actriz que representa a la diva Selena Quintanilla, por diversas escenas que según están alteradas (no pasaron realmente) entre otras cosas, sin embargo personalmente la serie me gustó muchísimo.

Si hablamos de los antecedentes cinematográficos que tienen que ver con la vida de Selena por supuesto que la película de 1997 interpretada por Jenifer López fue todo en éxito y nos cautivo a todos, sin embargo, me parece que no debemos comparar dichos trabajos ya que muestran enfoques distintos de la vida de la agrupación y abarcan periodos de tiempos distintos.

If we talk about the cinematic background that has to do with Selena's life of course the 1997 film played by Jenifer Lopez was all about success and captivated us all, however, it seems to me that we should not compare these works as they show different approaches to the life of the group and cover different periods of time.

Con esto me refiero a que la película de 1997 muestra cuando la reina del tex mex es niña e inicia en el grupo musical de su familia sin embargo, no muestra la precaria situación financiera de la familia Quintanilla Pérez en ese tiempo. Por otro lado, la serie si analiza aún más la difícil situación financiera de toda la familia. Aunado a esto, en la serie se refleja más a detalle el proceso de crecimiento de la agrupación, mostrando el trayecto musical que desempeñaron como agrupación en muchos escenarios desde los inicios hasta catalogarse como estrellas.

By this I mean that the 1997 film shows when the queen of Tex Mex is a child and starts in her family's music group, however, it does not show the precarious financial situation of the Quintanilla Perez family at that time. On the other hand, the series does analyze even more the difficult financial situation of the whole family. In addition to this, the series reflects in more detail the growth process of the group, showing the musical journey they played as a group in many scenarios from the beginning until they were catalogued as stars.

Otro dato importante es que en la serie Yolanda Saldivar no sale de manera frecuente en la primera parte de la serie, solo aparece en un par de escenas y ya. Por tanto, la serie se enfoca primordialmente en la vida de Selena y sus hermanos.

En la serie de Netflix la actriz que interpreta a Selena es Christian Serratos el cual, es de ascendencia mexicoamericana e italiana y aunque la mayoría de las personas no están felices con su interpretación debemos recordar que en 1997 también se recibieron muchas críticas al haber quedado seleccionada la bellísima Jenifer López nativa de New York con descendencia puertorriqueña, sin embargo, mi punto de vista en relacion a los dos filmes es que son increíbles y cumplen el objetivo principal que es exaltar y recordar la vida de Selena.

In the Netflix series the actress who plays Selena is Christian Serratos who is of Mexican-American and Italian descent and although most people are not happy with her performance we must remember that in 1997 we also received a lot of criticism for having selected the beautiful Jenifer Lopez, a native of New York with Puerto Rican descent. However, my point of view regarding the two films is that they are incredible and fulfill the main objective which is to exalt and remember Selena's life.

Otro dato adicional de suma importancia es que ambas cintas contaron con la aceptación de la familia Quintanilla por tanto, ellos como familia serán siempre los indicados para decir con propiedad como fue el proceso de Selena y los dinos para llegar al estrellato, por esto, personalmente siento que cada detalle que sale es importante.

Another very important fact is that both tapes had the acceptance of the Quintanilla family, therefore, they as a family will always be the ones to say with propriety how Selena's process was and tell us about it to reach stardom, because of this, I personally feel that every detail that comes out is important.

En fin, no puedo contarles a detalle todo lo que sucede en la serie porque les dañaria la sorpresa sin embargo, les invito a que pasen por Netflix y la vean en familia. La música, los vestuarios, la fotografía, los personajes absolutamente todo está tan bien realizado que lo más seguro es que se queden enganchados como me pasó a mí😍.

Anyway, I can't tell you in detail everything that happens in the series because it would hurt your surprise. However, I invite you to stop by Netflix and watch it as a family. The music, the costumes, the photography, the characters, absolutely everything is so well done that you will most likely be hooked as I was.
