Venezuelan music does not abandon me🎸[ESP-ENG]

Hola, Hive.

En mi Hive intro les comentaba que la música es mi combustible y además que comencé en este mundo maravilloso a muy temprana edad. Doy gracias a Dios y a mi madre por haberme llevado a la Escuela de Música “Federico Villena” a los 5 años para iniciar este transitar que realmente me ha llenado de satisfacciones.

Les cuento que la Escuela de Música “Federico Villena” tiene un pensum muy completo y entre las agrupaciones que teníamos disponibles para hacer la práctica orquestal en el instrumento elegido, había una orquesta típica y en lo que me enteré de la existencia de este conjunto orquestal decidí incorporarme con mi oboe a trabajar activamente en ella.

In my Hive intro I told them that music is my fuel and also that I started in this wonderful world at a very early age. I thank God and my mother for having taken me to the "Federico Villena" School of Music at the age of 5 to begin this journey that has really filled me with satisfaction.


I will tell you that the "Federico Villena" Music School has a very complete curriculum and among the groups that we had available to do the orchestral practice in the chosen instrument, there was a typical orchestra. As soon as I heard about the existence of this orchestral ensemble I decided to join it with my oboe and work actively in it.

Fue en la Orquesta Típica “Federico Villena” donde di mis primeros pasos en la música venezolana, comencé a conocer los distintos géneros y ritmos que hacen de nuestra música nacional la más variada y hermosa del mundo y de este modo enamorarme de cada una de las notas musicales que se escriben e interpretan desde nuestra geografía.

Después de haber formado parte durante algunos años de esta orquesta y mientras avanzaba en mis estudios formales de música, decidí reunirme con un grupo de compañeros y formar mi primer ensamble de música venezolana, Juventud Aragua se llamaba.

It was in the Orquesta Típica "Federico Villena" where I took my first steps in the Venezuelan music, I began to know the different genres and rhythms that make our national music the most varied and beautiful in the world and in this way I fell in love with each of the musical notes that are written and interpreted from our geography.


After having been part of this orchestra for some years and while I was advancing in my formal music studies, I decided to meet with a group of colleagues and form my first Venezuelan music ensemble, Juventud Aragua was called.

Éramos cinco quinceañeros amantes de la música tradicional que comenzamos a tocar juntos. Yo hacía los arreglos musicales y confieso que aún los conservo, una música muy sencilla, con los pocos recursos que podía tener un músico en formación, pero que interpretábamos con toda el alma.

Así fue pasando el tiempo y los músicos, las ideas, las propuestas musicales y las locuras. A Juventud Aragua le siguió Yacaram, Voiwasú, el Ensamble Zoe y 7/8, también en mis tiempos de bachillerato toqué en la estudiantina del Liceo “Agustín Codazzi” de la cual, al pasar los años me convertí en su director. La Universidad de Carabobo no fue la excepción y allí integré la Estudiantina Universitaria “Rafael Dalmau”.

We were five fifteen year old lovers of traditional music who started playing together. I made the musical arrangements and I confess that I still have them, a very simple music, with the few resources that a musician in training could have, but we played with all our soul.


That's how time went by and the musicians, the ideas, the musical proposals and the madness. Juventud Aragua was followed by Yacaram, Voiwasú, the Zoe Ensemble and 7/8, also in my high school days I played in the Agustín Codazzi School Estudiantina, of which I became the director. The University of Carabobo was not the exception and there I integrated the "Rafael Dalmau" University Estudiantina

Toda esta experiencia con la música venezolana y con grandes intérpretes de diversos instrumentos, me llevó a alimentar cada vez más mi deseo de producir música, hacía los arreglos para las distintas agrupaciones, también para las orquestas con las que trabajo y una que otra composición, por cierto, en mi post anterior, Recuerdos de Primavera y el Ensamble Zoe, olvidé mencionar que el tema que dio origen a ese artículo fue compuesto por mi en el año 2008.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes otro tema que tuve el placer de escribir para el Trío Zoe. Se llama Pajarillo para Tres, un pajarillo, ese difícil sub género del joropo que fascina y emociona a multitudes por igual.

All this experience with Venezuelan music and with great performers of various instruments, led me to feed more and more my desire to produce music, I made the arrangements for the various groups, also for the orchestras with which I work and one or another composition, by the way, in my previous post, Reminiscences of Spring and the Ensemble Zoe, I forgot to mention that the theme that gave rise to that article was composed by me in 2008.


Today I want to share with you another topic that I had the pleasure of writing for the Zoe Trio. It is called Pajarillo para tres, a pajarillo, that difficult sub-genre of the joropo that fascinates and excites crowds alike.
