Splinterlands - Barking Spider (Weekly Battle Post Entry)

One of the current cheapest gold foils to purchase is the rewards card Barking Spider. Considering doing a entry post for this week I took the liberty to purchase one level 3 gold foil. I have rarely used this monster in battles as I see multiple of better options in earth splinter. Card such as Swap Things and Earth Elemental comes to mind. In any case this post will be discussing the use of a Barking Spider. Enjoy!

The Battle

The rule set was back to basic and reverse speed with a limit of 21 Mana. The choices of splinter were fire, water and earth splinters. Since I had played about 10 battles prior to this one where I used earth splinter and unsuccessfully in winning a battle with Barking Spider I tried this battle to and lucky here I got away with a win. Interesting enough as you will see it was not Barking Spider that lead me to victory but another reward card that was a common that is very much loved for.

My Formation

I started with Goblin Mech and followed up with Furious Chicken. I intended to put Chicken there in hopes of extending life of my Barking Spider. In between the Chicken and Spider I slid in Magi of the Forest as now I was able to have melee, magic, and range attacks. The plan was to have Mech protect my rare formation and be main attacker while the rear formation be supplemental attackers.

My Opponent's Formation

My opponent uses a level 6 Inferno and a score of high level monsters and a mix of a couple of level 1s. What gave me an advantage in my formation is the fact that the monster abilities were all negated. This in turn also with really no strong tanker in my opponent's formation allowed for my Goblin Mech to attack head on with little resistance.

The Battle Results

The battle turned out a bit more surprising than I expected as majority of my opponent's monsters were knocked out before my Goblin Mech was taken out. The key part to my victory was my Goblin Mech while Magi and Spider assisted on supplementing with additionas attacks. If you are interested in watching the match here is a link..
