A Milestone and a Monday Moan

I shall get the moan out of the way, first. My new, and supposedly more reliable Internet provider has been dead for the last nearly 10 hours. Again. No explanation. Yet.

Saturday, though, was a milestone day: remember last week's Friday File? Well, I mentioned that there had only been two jars of marmalade in stock. Well, the decision to restock was vindicated.

I sold none of the new stock, but did sell that last pair of jars. With that sale, I sold the 120th unit since I started counting in September 2019. Of those 83 have been sold since the market resumed after the three-month lockdown hiatus at the beginning of July 2020.

At the market, C had magnificent, if oversized courgettes (or zucchini or baby marrows). So Saturday's braai included these sauteed with locally grown and processed, smoked sundried tomatoes and McGregor herbes de Provence.

Sunday was spent back in my weekend office doing some rebuilding. More of that in a while.

I have to believe that by the time office hours happen, my Internet is back...

Until next time, be well

  • Twice a year Traci York hosts a challenge to bloggers to post daily for a month. I've participated (or tried) for three years I've known her via the blockchain. Twice I've succeeded. It's that time of the year again, and I'm giving it a go - on the Hive blockchain. Wordpress bloggers are also invited to participate.

I am always happy to hear that your goods are doing well at the market. For some reason, most people have stopped tagging #MarketFriday with @dswigle in the post, so nobody identifies it with #MarketFriday. It is easier to find them all when the link is dropped on my #MarketFriday post also. People come and like to go through the list and pick out some to read.

I always appreciate your well-written posts. Thank you.

In these times when COVID has made it challenging to put together a post, or even search out different locations, I can say with an optimistic attitude that #MarketFriday has survived the pandemic, thanks to all of you. Without your dedication to stretch what we call a market has been done successfully. Thank you! All of you! In doing so, we have discovered that we have added a new dimension to the tag. As many have been staying closer to home, I have also discovered more and more about each of you and that has been pretty nice. I have to admit, with the platform broken into different communities and tags, we get to see the same people, more or less that join every week, so we get to know each other a little bit. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. We embrace each other as humans.

I love the experience of it all. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Truly! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!

I am so bad at searching and dropping links! I apologise and am grateful that you searched me out and more especially for your kind words.

I am also thinking that since the advent of communities, it's become more difficult to "fit". Of course, the salmon in me doesn't want to fit in just one place!

Hope you and yours are doing well, @dswigle. Thanks again, for #marketfriday.

I actually dislike the communities for the same reason. You can add more than one tag to your post. I always do. #BeautifulSunday and #SublimeSunday plus Kalamandras colors. :)

They have made me so I have to.

The only reason I care is there is no connection to the post and #MarketFriday if you don't. I usually have my #MarketFriday post already posted on Thursday night midnight EST You are six hours ahead of me.

Thanks for understanding!
