Baby Buns For A Big Day

(Edited)

It's been a week. And it's been a rollercoaster. On Monday, our belief that all had gone well with The Husband's surgery was shattered. Just precautionary, the surgeon said, but scan they had to. The thing was bigger than...well...that doesn't matter. The day was yesterday and, yes it's all good. No matter how one tries believes, it still worries...

Because of covid, one can't accompany the patient. So I took to my kitchen. As is my won't.

Vegan aioli, a new summer line, inspired by @lizelle.

Two dozen baby buns for the table after we bid Paul farewell. A hard, sad and important day ahead.

Until next time, be well

Sending you love and best wishes! May your husband recover well and be fit as a fiddle soon. It's so great that you have your kitchen and activities to keep you occupied.

Praying your hubby recovers well! It's really not a nice time to be in hospital as it's always so encouraging getting visitors, and not nice for you either! Thank goodness for the diversion offered by cooking and baking, glad you remembered that aioli, sure it will do well at your market, stay well Fiona xxx

Mercifully it was a one night stay, Lizelle. He's very much on the road to recovery. Frustrated at not being able to do things. Still eating for three. Good signs.

Cooking is indeed love. It can also provide catharsis or comfort, or just necessary nourishment to take on hard times. Sending love to all as you say your goodbyes to Paul today. 💚
