Last Sunday we celebrated Children's Day in Venezuela and a very beautiful song came to my mind that transmits to me the idea of the need for care and environment that we must give to these little great people, who are a fundamental part of the future we dream of.

It is the song Let the children sing composed and interpreted by José Luis Perales, Spanish singer-songwriter of recognized musical trajectory and that thinking about the work done by a children's NGO (Children's Villages, SOS) elaborates this work of art that beyond being a song for children, inspires reflections that from here transcends to other important topics.

In the first place, already the verses with which it begins "Let the children sing, let them raise their voices" calls attention to the value of those who are going through their childhood, in fact, we all go through it, and it is the moment where the principles that will be our life begin to take root in us.

El domingo pasado celebramos el día del niño en Venezuela y vino a mi mente una canción muy hermosa que me transmite la idea sobre la necesidad del cuidado y ambiente que debemos brindarles a estas pequeñas grandes personas, que son parte fundamental del futuro que soñamos.

Se trata de la canción Que canten los niños compuesta e interpretada por José Luis Perales, cantautor español de reconocida trayectoria musical y que pensando en la labor que hace una ONG infantil (Aldeas infantiles SOS) elabora esta obra de arte que más allá de ser una canción para los niños, inspira reflexiones que partiendo de aquí trasciende a otros temas de importancia.

En primer lugar, ya con los versos con los que empieza "Que canten los niños, que alcen la voz" hace un llamado de atención sobre el valor que tienen los que están transcurriendo su infancia, de hecho todos pasamos por allí, y es el momento donde los que serán nuestros principios de vida empiezan a enraizarse en nosotros.

- Attitudes to imitate. We all go through the stage of childhood but in it, we live attitudes that are worth keeping through the years; as for example, sincerity, as a verse of the song says "In them (the children) is the truth, let's say the same about unity, because, it is always more what unites us than what separates us. Let's do as when we were children that although we fought we soon reconciled, only in this way - as another verse also says - "we unite our voices (like children) and we reach the sun".

- Protest song. What I like about the song is that it is not mere "romanticism", she goes further, and through the children she makes us reflect on wars, pain, different kinds of suffering, poverty, hunger, and even ecology, in fact, in one of her lines she expresses that "I sing because the sky is blue/ And I so that they don't dirty the sea for me."

- Sense of singing. Singing soothes the soul because with singing we can express our feelings, emotions, and deepest desires. Behind every lyric and music, there is a meaning that we are called to explore, contemplate and share, hence throughout this song we hear the refrain of why children sing, in fact, over and over again they express: "I sing for... I sing for... I sing for... I sing for". I leave you with the video of this beautiful song.

- Actitudes a imitar. Tomos pasamos por la etapa de la infancia pero en ella vivimos actitudes que vale la pena mantengamos a través de los años; como por ejemplo, la sinceridad, como dice un verso de la canción "En ellos (los niños) está la verdad, digamos lo mismo de la unidad, pues, siempre es más lo que nos une que lo que nos separa. hagamos como cuando éramos niños que aunque nos peleábamos pronto nos reconciliábamos, sólo así - como también dice otro verso - "unimos nuestras voces (como los niños) y llegamos al sol".

-Canto de protesta. Lo que me gusta de la canción es que no es un mero "romanticismo", ella va más allá, y a través de los niños nos hace reflexionar sobre las guerras, el dolor, diversas clases de sufrimiento, la pobreza, el hambre y hasta la ecología, en efecto, en una de sus líneas se expresa que "Yo canto porque sea el cielo azul/ Y yo para que no me ensucien el mar."

- Sentido del canto. Cantar alivia el alma porque con el canto podemos expresar nuestros sentimientos, emociones y deseos más profundos. Detrás de cada letra y música hay un sentido que estamos llamados a explorar, contemplar y compartir, de allí que en toda esta canción escuchamos el estribillo de por qué los niños cantan, en efecto, una y otra vez expresan: "Yo canto para.. yo canto para... yo canto para".
