Hello, Hivers. Within the bands, groups or ensembles have always drawn attention to instruments with high frequencies, such as violin or guitar, which generally are the most striking instruments, but in this section of my blog, I will focus mostly on great bassists famous for their career or those new talents of these new times. The electric bass usually is not a very striking instrument for many, besides the great rockstars are always the guitarists or vocalists, but although it may not seem so, the bass and the bassist play an extremely important role, where in many cases the central axis of the musical themes is carried by the bass and usually those who create the bands are the bassists or are the producers. Known for having been in the women's band "Vixen" in 1988 as bassist, this before the band was so well known, "Pia Miocco" played in this band but despite this she did not continue to be part of this band and only participated in some projects not very well known. While I was studying and investigating the career as guitarist of "Steve Vai" I could notice that his wife was bassist of Vixen and besides this they met at the Berklee School of Music and since then they began a sentimental relationship; it was in this way that I managed to find this bassist and within her biography she stands out, more than everything, to be the support to what to music and composition refers to Steve Vai.

Dentro de las bandas, agrupaciones o ensambles siempre han llamado la atención los instrumentos con frecuencias altas, como el violín o la guitarra, que por lo general son los instrumentos más llamativos, pero en esta sección de mi blog, me centraré en su gran mayoría en grandes bajistas famosos por su trayectoria o esos nuevos talentos de estos nuevos tiempos. El bajo eléctrico por lo general no es un instrumento muy llamativo para muchos, además los grandes rockstar siempre son los guitarristas o vocalistas, pero aunque no lo parezca, el bajo y el bajista juegan un rol sumamente importante, donde en muchos casos el eje central de los temas musicales lo lleva el bajo y por lo general quienes crean las bandas son los bajistas o son los productores. Conocida por haber estado en la banda de mujeres “Vixen” en 1988 como bajista, esto antes de ser tan reconocida la banda, “Pia Miocco” toco en esta banda pero a pesar de esto no siguió formando parte de esta banda y solo participó en algunos proyectos no muy conocidos. Mientras estudiaba e investigaba la carrera como guitarrista de “Steve Vai” pude notar que su esposa fue bajista de Vixen y además de esto se conocieron en la Escuela de Música de Berklee y desde entonces iniciaron una relación sentimental; fue de esta manera que logré dar con esta bajista y dentro de su biografía destaca, más que todo, ser el apoyo a lo que a música y composición se refiere de Steve Vai.

"Pia Maiocco" is an American bassist born in 1962, with a career defined mostly by being the musical support of the great guitarist "Steve Vai", besides being his sentimental partner. Pia, began her passion for music in her adolescence partly with the support of her parents and already in her teens she managed to enter the Berklee School of Music, where she was trained as a performing musician, both bass and guitar, which she can also play with skill. “Pia Maiocco” es una bajista estadounidense nacida en 1962, con una trayectoria definida más que todo por ser el apoyo a nivel musical del gran guitarrista “Steve Vai”, además de ser su compañera sentimental. Pia, inició su pasión por la música en su adolescencia en parte con el apoyo de sus padres y ya en su adolescencia logra entrar a la escuela de música Berklee, donde logra formarse como músico ejecutante, tanto del bajo como de la guitarra, que también puede ejecutar con destreza. En esta época experimento en varias agrupaciones, pero la de mayor renombre fue la banda femenina de Hard Rock “Vixen” banda con la cual duró un muy corto período, pero su presencia se notó abiertamente. A lo largo de su carrera, se le ha conocido más, por ser la esposa del maestro de la guitarra “Steve Vai” y por sus aportes dentro de la producción de él, pero en general su trayectoria se ha visto limitada a la producción.

Con respecto a técnicas al haber sido egresada de Berklee, se le conoce por tener una destreza en ejecución bastante respetable y en consideración a su habilidad ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar como bajista de sesión para algunos otros artistas.
