Holy cow! Another week behind us! It feels like just the other day I was typing up my post for the last #weeklyspins. The title for this week is a little misleading. If you are late 80's/90's pop fan you are totally going to get the reference.

The truth is, we were finally starting to see some Spring/Summer like temperatures in my neck of the woods. I think one day over the last weekend we even hit the 70 degree mark. My wife and I even had our first "deck sit" for the year. It was awesome to soak up the sun and just relax while dinner was on the grill.

My music listening was a bit all over the place this week. As usual. I am not sure why I even bother mentioning that because if you are a regular you are probably not surprised by that any more.

Let me start by saying I love Roxette. I know there are probably some haters out there. Sure, some of their songs sound the same, but in my opinion they were quite fantastic. I never really came to appreciate them as much as I did until after they were out of the spotlight.

I picked up the Tourism album and I have to say that is my absolute favorite of theirs. It has so many good songs on it. It also includes a couple I love that didn't get much recognition at the height of their career.

Roxette is funny though because it is a band that I often easily forget about. When I get in a "mood", I can listen to them a lot. Then I kind of forget about them for a year until they pop up on my radar again. That is exactly what happened this time. I was listening to the 90's channel on Sirius/XM on the way in to work and "Joyride" came on. I knew I had to cover it this week.

Fleetwood Mac is another one of my favorites. I used to joke that if you flipped between the four "easy listening" radio stations in my area at any given time you were guaranteed to find a Fleetwood Mac song on at least one of them.

They are pretty much a staple. I remember the first time I heard this song "Everywhere". It actually wasn't preformed by Fleetwood Mac. My dad is quite the photographer. We used to have a darkroom in our house growing up and he used to do freelance work. That work included weddings and the first time I heard this song it was being sung at a wedding.

I am not sure why I was there with him, but I remember this song very clearly.

I think it was the first time my dad had heard the song too, because he was absolutely fascinated with it. Without the Internet, it took some creative searching to find out who sang it. I remember my dad blasting this song through his huge stereo speakers over and over driving my mom crazy.

Good times!

Finally, I am going to leave you with this song. I spent the fair part of the day yesterday listening to some Madonna and this is probably one of my top three favorite songs of hers. The video is so epic. I remember when it first came out, it was probably my favorite video on MTV at the time and it got a ton of airplay.

Setting aside the 80's for a second, I really think this song is a great example of Madonna at the top of her game.

There are actually so many facets to this video. A quick Google search tells me that Michael Haussman directed the video. I am not familiar with him, but I think he absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one.

That's all I've got for this week. If you have been listening to something awesome, leave a comment and let me know what it is. Better yet, write your own post and use the #weeklypsins tag!

It makes a change for me to know all your songs. How come there's never any ones from 2021?

@bozz thinks about this... 'because new music sucks'...

That is exactly what I was thinking. Have you heard WAP? If that is music these days, I might have to pass!
