Films soundtracks #3 - Lo chiamavano Trinità... (1970)

Hi Hivers! 🤗

In this third volume of "Films soundtracks", I wanted to share with you (and recommend) the soundtrack of a great western comedy from the '70s.

I'm talking about the iconic They Call Me Trinity (whose original title is Lo chiamavano Trinità...), directed by Enzo Barboni (aka E.B. Clucher), and with music composed by Franco Micalizzi.

THE COMPOSER

Franco Micalizzi is an Italian composer and conductor, best known for his film compositions of the 1970s.
He was born on December 21, 1939 in Rome, Italy.
Throughout his life he composed the music for about 50 movies. His last film work was for the 2007 animated film Welcome Back Pinocchio.

Poliziotteschi

A genre in which Micalizzi performed on several occasions, and very well, was the Italian police (known as poliziotteschi), working in films such as Il giustiziere sfida la città (1975), Roma a mano armata (1976), Napoli violenta (1976), Italia a mano armata (1976), Il cinico, l'infame, il violento (1977), La banda del gobbo (1978), among others.
Many of these films were directed by Umberto Lenzi, with whom he had a prolific professional relationship.

Here is a conversation between the two:

THE FILM

They Call Me Trinity is a 1970 Italian film, shot in color. It stars Terence Hill and Bud Spencer (a duo that would work together many times). It is a parody of traditional westerns, both spaghetti westerns and American westerns. It has great absurd humor, with all kinds of hilarious situations. It has classic status, and is seen as the best of the comedies the duo made together.
Personally, the chemistry between the leads is the most beautiful thing about the film (along with the music) 😆, but on second thought, perhaps the girls Judith and Sarah are the most beautiful 😇.

If you are in the mood for a light (but quality) movie that will make you laugh, I highly recommend it.

THE SOUNDTRACK

The soundtrack has a very badass tone. It oozes style, and it fits wonderfully with the film.

Here is a link to download it full and in good quality.

In the meantime, enjoy the main theme:
