Psychological evaluation of how we perceive emotions

Many of us go through emotions that sometimes are uncontrollable, or sometimes we do not know why they occur, because sometimes we try to control them, but they get out of our control, that is why it would be convenient that we focus on the origin and cause of such emotions.

In order to understand and master emotions better, it is necessary that we can find a fairly coherent explanation of the phenomena behind the emotions that we feel in some decisive moments of our daily life. I am aware that I am touching on a very complex topic such as emotions, since many have different opinions on this subject, but it is also true that suddenly many opinions cross and coincide, the idea is that I can express what I really think and can generate a debate where everyone participates and generate a considerable contribution.

Within the range of emotions I have understood that it is better to treat them and know their psychological impact under a perspective of sensations, and as much as possible try to avoid the generation of concepts, since they would not contribute much to a subject as complex as emotions.

When I say this, I mean that we have all felt a great diversity of emotions throughout our lives, but if we were asked what emotion is? surely we would not find the right words to describe what emotion really is.

One of the personal points that I consider about emotions is that we live in a constant emotional state, but when this emotional state is passive or very little expressive we denote or understand it as not having emotions, and really if we have emotion at all times, only when we believe that we do not have it is because the range of sensation of that emotional state is very low.

Generally I think that our body and mind act by stimulus, if the stimuli of the environment are very low, generally there is nothing to stimulate our emotions, but really the emotions are there but in a passive state, waiting for something to come from outside and stimulate it.

A fright is an emotion, but a joy is an emotion, therefore the sensations of happiness or sadness are emotions that depend on stimuli, it is like when studying the physical properties of matter, "Newton's first law says that a state will remain at rest if there are no external agents or forces acting on a certain object".

I would dare to say that our emotions follow a similar pattern, i.e. our emotions could suffer a dynamic state whenever there is a stimulus that makes it become any emotional state, which can be sadness, joy, melancholy, and even reach a neutral state where you may think that there are no emotions, but really there are, what happens is that I think that a series of stimuli can make emotions more passive and neutral than those that can be had in an initial state.

I would like to know what do you think about the nature and origin of emotions?

Emotions can be really tricky, sometimes you get lost and don't even understand why you act the way you do. Thanks for this

Greetings @sandracarrascal, indeed touching the subject of emotions is complex since each individual perceives and manifests them differently, maybe what for another person is a stimulus for an emotion for me is not and so on, so the issue of emotions lies in how the person can perceive it.

Hello friend, the subject of emotions is very important, each of us handle them very differently, it is important to know ourselves and know the reason for these emotions. Emotional intelligence is necessary to be able to handle many situations, I believe that many things in our life depend on that, the management of our emotions. Greetings and thank you for sharing.
