Greetings again my dear friends of this prestigious platform, as usual we continue in our search for any type of technological application that man has implemented through the essential link between science-technology, in our journey without a doubt we have been able to find any type of machine, tool or devices of great technological advancement and the same very useful for all of us and that has been our task, to highlight this important features highlighting as always the good use of any type of technological application.

My reader friends, it is no secret that the generation of electricity through fossil fuels has generated great concern in recent decades, this concern keeps activated anyone in the world with the purpose of generating clean or renewable electricity, with the firm purpose of drastically curbing the generation of carbon dioxide CO2 emitted by energy generation sources through hydrocarbon derivatives.

Therefore, in our journey we have already known great innovations such as the SmartFlower, the wind turbine without blades and floating solar plants, all these incredible creations that seek the purpose stated above, ie, energy as clean as possible, this time we find a wonderful technological innovation that structures a very curious source of clean energy generation and this through the implementation of a series of tiles that have the enormous capacity of energy through the steps of the people who walk on them.

In this way we see the great interest of many people in trying to preserve our environment as clean as possible through numerous creations such as the one we will analyze in this opportunity in a general way as the generation of energy through our footsteps.

Tiles that generate electricity

Undoubtedly my reader friends, every time we can find new alternatives that seek to satisfy our need for electricity, and also with the main purpose of preserving our precious environment and that really is priceless because we are talking about the right future for the next generations.

But let's talk a little about this type of invention, and where we find that this idea or approach was generated in 2009 when a very ingenious industrial design student caught the idea where our steps could generate clean energy, the name of this bold young man is Laurence Kemball-Cook of British nationality.

In order to consolidate his idea this young man designed a type of rectangular tiles as you could see at the beginning of this article, so that these tiles manage to transform a certain amount of kinetic energy into electrical energy, and for this purpose these tiles sink about 5 millimeters and having piezoelectric material elements each step of a person of average weight can generate a certain amount of energy (about 8 watts).

It is important to highlight that piezoelectric materials are natural crystals that when subjected to certain pressure are compressed and can generate a certain voltage and the most interesting thing is that they recover their original shape, as shown in the following image.

We can say that in this type of material is the key to the generation of electrical energy while stepping on a tile of this type, however, naturally the creator of this innovative technology protects all information related to his incredible invention, and does not disclose in detail whether such tiles use piezoelectricity activity, however, the important thing is that it has achieved the generation of electrical energy other than that generated through fossil fuel sources.

Another very important detail to take into account is to point out the effectiveness of each step for the generation of such energy since this will depend on the person who steps on them, for example, the pressure exerted by the body mass of a child will not be the same as that of an adult, therefore, adults will exert more pressure on these tiles and consequently more energy generation, Laurence has reported that the ideal weight of a person for adequate power generation ranges between 70 kilograms.

Another curious note of this creative technological invention is that 5% of the energy generated by this tile is used to illuminate an LED logo that identifies this type of smart tile, while the rest of the energy can be consumed directly to store in a type of accumulator such as a battery.

An interesting way to generate electricity my friend, I had already read something about a wooden floor with materials with that piezoelectric effect, according to what I read in buildings with high traffic of people could use these materials to replace the solar panels that are not very aesthetic.
