Not to be forgotten.

The importance for people to call them by name is not debatable, in the end, it means a lot not to be forgotten. Yes, in fact, there are complicated names to pronounce and also to write, therefore to put a little effort in this is worth a lot because from there good human relations are derived, added to the change of attitude that people have when they are called by their name "Mr. Carlos" or "Beatriz" is kind, they feel valued, on the contrary when you say look at the one with the blue shirt that I do not remember your name is different, there is discouragement or discontent immediately.

Write it down and repeat it.

Very good techniques mentioned by the author and that were applied by several people as for example Napoleon III, emperor of France who took his time to understand the name of the people and not to forget it, write it down and repeat it I liked it. Thus in the work field, it is very valuable to know the members of the organization and that implies knowing their names, the change is great in the behavior of people when they are called by their name, they feel integrated, part of the team therefore their performance is better.

There is something true, many situations make that certain names are never forgotten, I mean when we had a negative experience with someone or on the contrary a very good situation, both scenarios mark us or impact us and we hardly forget those names.

As humans that we are, I speak for me sometimes I forget the names of people, yes I have a good photographic memory because I remember the faces; however, I try more and more to put on my side and always remember the names of the people I know.

good article, many say that names are a mantra calling almost all people by their name is seen as good manners and I say almost because for many their names are horrible and they hate that you call them by their name

Hi @trabajosdelsiglo
I do understand that point, and you are right, there are parents who are very artistic when they name their children.
And in that sense, those people don't like their names.

It is a beautiful thing to remember people's names, but what people deal with each day and things going on in the brain won't give much ability to recall names, most especially when heard just once. I know someone in my organisation, and she is so gifted that she will call you with your full names, even if you are upto a hundred in front of her.

Hi @benie111

That's why I say that it's usually like a DON or an art, we don't all have that capacity.

In my classes as a teacher, sometimes for more than 140 students, I usually remember the number of their identity card associated with the name more easily than the name itself.

I take everything to the numbers is very easy.

Good review, @lanzjoseg.

The community needs more posts that encourage collective reading. That experience was great!

Hi @wiseagent

I am still living that experience.
The book is great and by the time it was written it was something that changed many paradigms
