Cartesi: The operating system for DApps.
I have always loved to be an app developer while I was growing up, then by 2017 I got to know about blockchain and decentralization.
This changed my while view about how an app should be or not, then I started to see DApps (decentralized applications) here and there.
Since I am just starting to learn the ropes, I believe DApps are the future. I have been wondering about what operating system is the best out there and what offers the right platform for developers to learn and build with ease, that was when I got to know about Cartesi.
Cartesi is a layer-2 platform for the development and deployment of scalable decentralized applications. Cartesi DApps are composed of both blockchain and off-chain components. Off-chain components run inside Cartesi Nodes that represent the interests of each DApp user. Cartesi Nodes provide DApp developers with reproducible Cartesi Machines, where large scale verifiable computations can be run.
Cartesi runs on the three fundamental principles – a virtual machine architecture, a crypto-economic protocol, and on-chain dispute resolution. It is to be noted that the off-chain components run under a complete Linux operating system that provides the full ecosystem required by complex computations.

To make things easier, Cartesi enables DApp developers to use all the programming languages, tools, libraries, software, and services they are already familiar with. By moving most of the complex logic of their DApps to portable off-chain components, developers are freed from the limitations and idiosyncrasies imposed by blockchains.
