Most of us have set goals for this year and we are hoping to achieve them, but so far we haven't made any real progress towards achieving our 2021 goals. It is very easy to set a goal but very very difficult to achieve it. How many of you reading this article have some of your 2020 goals in your 2021 goals because you weren't able to achieve them in 2020? Without wasting any more time, let's jump into the topic of discussion for today. I will be giving you guys two ways you can be able to achieve your 2021 goals in this article, enjoy!!!

Set Attainable Goals

Many people make this mistake a lot and complain that their goals of last year wasn't achieved. Why should it be achieved?(smiles). Imagine someone saying I want to become the richest man in Africa in 2021, and he doesn't have up to $100 as his life savings. Is that an attainable goals? No, it is not an attainable goal obviously except you have Aladdin genie's lamp or a powerful magic wand. And I guess you don't have. I know we all have some crazy ass stuffs we want to become. For me, I want to become a multi-billionaire, that's my dream, but should that be my goal for 2021, hell no. For instance, I created goals that are achievable this year and that might draw me closer to my dream goal of becoming a multi-billionaire, please note, in Naira and not in Dollars(hahaha). Set achievable goals that will draw you closer to your dream goal and maybe in years or decades to come, you might achieve dream goal if you are consistent and hard-working. For instance, a young girl who just compose her first song last week, said she wants her song to be heard across the globe this year and that's her goal for the year. Is that achievable? Close impossible. But if she sets a goal that she wants everyone around her locality to know of her before this year ends, now that is an achievable goal that is drawing her to her dream goal. When you go after your dream goal you won't make any progress in achieving it because it is too impossible to be achieved in a year. But when you go after an attainable goal, you will most likely achieve it and it will draw you closer to your dream goal. So set attainable goals and you will have your dream goal in the future. Note, all these musicians, athletes, billionaires, and so on, they didn't just become famous in a flash, it took them years and achievement of small goals to take them to where they are now.

Stay True To Yourself

Most people don't do this. You have a terrible singing voice but yet you wish to become a musician and win a grammy in the future, will you be able to achieve such goal. No!!! You are not good in mathematics yet you want to become an engineer or network analyst or coder, is that possible? No!!! The great Socrates said "Man Know Thyself". There is so much wisdom in that short phrase. You should be able to stay true to yourself and tell yourself the harsh truth. You have been trying to learn coding for the past 3 years and you have not been able to understand Javascript, who are you kidding? Coding is not for you, look for something you bond with and can learn easily, and before you know it, you will become great in that field. This is a true life story, there's a guy in my class while I was still in High School, he comes last in class of 50 students, every term. Everyone knows he will score the least in any test or exam. When we got done from High School, most of us got admission to the University but this guy didn't. Instead of following a path(education) which will see him little success, he changed his path and started learning how to repair cars. 3 years after, I was in my 300L, this guy already has a car and a house, he was a genius at car repairing and business was good for him. This is what a lot of us suffer from, we don't tell ourselves the truth about what we are doing, if we like it or not. We think about what others think of us and don't get to achieve our goals in that field of work because that's was not where we were ever meant to be. So be true to yourself today.
