Coronavirus, the response of a potency.

The world is on alert as a result of an enemy that threatens the human race, WHO called for nations to get involved in the fight against this scourge. The virus is having serious consequences for WUHAN's economy.

Fuente

Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of this virus is completely isolated, what in the past were streets and avenues traveled today have become "ghost" streets, by the time of this publication the death toll amounted to 425 and more than 20400 infected figure that is increasing.

As of today, most countries that have citizens in the Asian country are taking them back to their home countries. In the midst of this situation today they celebrated the start-up of a hospital built specifically for patients infected with the virus.

Huoshenshan (Mountain of the Fire God)

The hospital was built in just 10 days, an impressive response from a nation considered the second power in the world, the images of the machinery and the personnel cramming the ground traveled the world as a test of seriousness and organization to face this health crisis , something difficult to match if we think of any of our countries in Latin America.

The hospital center has 1000 beds to receive only and exclusively patients infected with the coronavirus, but, in addition to this a second hospital is built that will have 1500 beds.

Medical staff.

It is expected that the hospital will have 1,400 members of the medical personnel of the armed forces: 950 hospital workers from the Joint Logistic Support Force of the Armed Forces and 450 more from health universities of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.

It also has a team of 15 experts dedicated especially to avoid infections within the hospital.

Investment

According to the government, the budget for the construction and for the material of the two hospitals rises to 300 million yuan (about 43 million dollars), an investment that is well worth the crisis that is going on.

Conclusions

China has responded to the threat as it is worthy of a power, although all the effort has not yet paid off in terms of eradicating the coronavirus, however, there is a great deployment of human and economic resources that tirelessly fight to stop and eradicate this threat to world health.

Now I wonder, what happens if a virus like this appears in some Latin American country? What answer would I have if it appeared in Venezuela? Do we have the resources and infrastructure necessary to face a situation of such magnitude?

First of all 20400 people is a large number to get an epidemic but it is amazingly awesome the way the Chinese government are handling this matter. I can't say much about latin America but if were to happen in Africa, the government will wait till the united nations do something about it. The African government is filled with corruption that they do not care about her citizens

Hello my @gbenga , thanks for participating. I must tell you that the reality in Latin America is not very different from Africa, corruption is present at any level of government, we can only pray that this does not reach our countries with the same force.

This is really bad. The rate of corruption in Africa is very high, i never knew latin America countries could be suffering from this as well

It is terrible to hear something like that ... of course, it is much worse to know that it is quite possibly true.

Actually it is worse because most African political leaders just put themselves between the budget and the people so they embezzle what is supposed to be used for the masses.

Are there actually any cases of this virus in Africa @gbenga?

Currently, there is no case of coronavirus in Africa and I hope it doesn't appear because it will cost a lot of life and if W.H.O doesn't attend to the victims, the government will do virtually nothing about it.

No doubt, China fought well against this epidemic. Hats off to them.

Hol friend @akdx, thanks for reading and commenting on this post.

Although the outbreak still persists, I believe they have done what is necessary to try to stop this threat.

It is surprising the speed with which the response was given, but the speed of contagion is still worrying, and people with the disease have already been identified on three continents, if I remember correctly the account.

I doubt that in a Latin American country it would have responded so quickly or the effort had been made to build a specialized health center for the problem, unfortunately I doubt very much that the reality about the epidemic would have even been published until it reached levels that were impossible to hide.

Unfortunately I must say that you are right and it is sad to have to accept it because there is a global threat that continues to spread, as you say, there have been cases outside the Chinese borders.

I believe that in Latin America there are confirmed cases in Peru, but I have not known if other people have been identified in the region, the situation is worrying and scary to remember that the strategy of many of the governments of the region is to deny the facts (even if they are true) until the situation explodes and is impossible to hide.

Unfortunately that is the reality in our countries, we pray that this virus does not reach our country.

Dear @fucho80

I've been following news about corona virus literally every day and my concern is growing. Wuhan economy is surely going to be hit very hard and I'm curious what will happen once lunar new year is over. Will factories be re-opened or continue being shut down?

Seriously, difficult times ahead of us. I also was wondering if China will be able to affort to support Maduro financially. Without their help - he won't be able to pay army for their "loyalty". Which can be a game changer for entire Venezuela.

Would't you agree?

In the midst of this situation today they celebrated the start-up of a hospital built specifically for patients infected with the virus.
I wonder, what happens if a virus like this appears in some Latin American country? What answer would I have if it appeared in Venezuela?

Indeed - venezuela would be doomed.

One thing that I admire is Chinese reaction time. Building similar hospital in europe would take months. It would actually take weeks to have 'construction plan' approved. I strongly believe, that similar outbreak in europe would be so much more painful and out of control. Hopefully we won't get to that point.

Surely it will affect the support, but beyond that, oil prices are falling and it is said to be a consequence of the virus, I recently read the OPEC call to a meeting to discuss this issue.

Yes, if the reaction speed is surprising, but this is not new, in the past to face a similar situation a hospital with these characteristics was built in 7 days, according to what I have read, so they are prepared for this type of contingency .

Friend, even if you don't believe it, I am very worried about what is happening in China, however I can tell you that I am much more worried if that pandemic touches Venezuelan soil.

Here it is true that this Virus would hurt the Venezuelans who are still in Venezuela.

Or, in the middle of Africa... dark possibilities. I assume the number of victims will be much higher.

And if another virus spreads out which not only kills older people? And not only 2 percent of the sick ones die? Horrible prospects.

That would be a horror scenario. Pray that Chinese scientists can stop and eradicate this threat.

Hello friend @fucho80

I hope that virus doesn't come anywhere near these parts, because then it really gets out of control. In Latin America there are great professionals, with a lot of training, even some obtained in developed countries, however, that's not all.

In many Latin American countries health is very expensive, I doubt that these Healthcare companies will bet a fortune to alleviate a similar situation, and if we consider that governments are all in debt, we are talking about an economic crisis that affects the ability to respond.

On the other hand, in good measure we Latinos are somewhat relaxed about these things, we do not take them very seriously until it is more than necessary to do so. It's a personal and individual point of view...

A topic for reflection.

It makes perfect sense what you say brother, it is worrisome that this situation hits us, we do not know how far it can go, however, we must do so that this does not touch our land and is fully controlled and eradicated for the good of Chinese citizens.
