What if we crossed the wall

in Project HOPElast year

Having a casual meeting with the owner of #wherein and the core team. Trying to understand more about the concept of community.

Some of the discussion including:

  1. Social work - purely for charity and social contribution
  2. Community development - profit from ticketing for example
  3. Reward - Talking about what do people care from the community?

Now, let's talk about what do we like. I myself like to be a social blogger. I'm not particularly good at any form of professional, but I do like to share. I like to blog, and I like to engage. So, regardless in #steem or #hive, we're actually in the perfect situation because we have all the convenient. A reward system, a social working platform, and we can have a community.

However, the challenge now is, we can have thousands of community, but where does the actual bring value to the ecosystem came from? There are things that we need to look into, the things that people really value. Note that steem/hive, these or printed from vest as an when we put up an upvote. There's a chance that these content being created just for the sake of getting an upvote, and they do not posses any value.

So, it brings to another issue. whenever there's a chance to talk about reward, it certainly reminds me of the above situation. When I give you an upvote, what do I get in return? This is on a small scale of trading in the society. I know, even curator getting back 50% from the curator reward, but that does not explain why should I vote you? To reward good article? Indeed, but the money does not came from your pocket, not from my pocket. It was mint from the vest we sent out. Which means, we're printing money. If we looking at a macro scale, here comes a bigger problem. We have so many content creator here, and where are the content consumer? It's like everyone of us are here to "earn". I know there are investors, but the investors are here to earn as well? Therefore, until today, I am only seeing whether #steem or #hive, these crypto currency act as an achor, as the helper. We, the user, the investors, are here to climb that wall. Once we're on top, or crossed over, we left the crypto here, the #steem, the #hive.

At this point of time, we haven't came to any conclusion yet. But we know the problem is here. App developer will be telling us there are a lots of solution, like BTC halving, but don't forget we in STEEM/HIVE, we are still printing. So, there's not much of burning going on. Short of 'buy back value'.

Put it this way, what if our community in project-hope found some sponsor which willing to contribute a huge sum for advertising with our articles because they found our discussion in technology, economy are useful to their customer base. Here comes another question, why would we still depending our livelyhood with STEEM/HIVE? I coudln't imagine the amount of money pouring in to STEEM/HIVE, and someone else is selling their steem/hive at the back?

Sorry I do not have a solution for you, but I find myself a need to record this short meeting with the team, not in project-hope, but I think it will be useful for PH to start thinking it this way. Printing hive/steem doesn't cure the situation. Halving it? Do you want to burn your steem/hive or mine? I'm not willing to. So, how to bring steem/hive to the moon?

Thank you for your support. Here's a !shop as token of appreciation.

I want to feel involved and become a part of the meeting, but I think it is impossible for now because I don't have anything on hive blockchain at this time. it feels like we can share with each other again like my friend @davidke20. and I hope that in the future we can discuss again by unblocking it on discourd and on WhatsApp.🙇😪

A promise, is a promise. Janji tetap janji. It's like a mirror. Once broken, it's broken. I promised you to bring you to 500SP, and I did it. You promised me to not power down, and you broke the promise. What do you expect me to do? Forget about all that and bring you to 500 again? Now, you not only do not have 500SP, you do not have 500HP. What do you have?

Everybody deserve a second chance. Prove to me you worth it. 500SP.

Kind regards my friend, that surely was a nice discussions about tokenomics (as it is called on the western side of the world).

IMO Bitcoin deflation (because of the halving) is not a good example of increasing value to a told. Why? Because there are always more of us potentially joining in as time passes and with less supply it Will become a more centralized coin as time passes.

That being said we have to find ways to outweight the dilution Hive tokens suffer when new tokens are minted, as far as I understood the demand is pumped by utility and scarcity... Thus I would focus more on the utility part, we have to find more sinks for the Hive besides the Resource Credits, here quality over quantity of sinks is crucial.

Hive/Steem needs a way to be used as a mechanism to unlock a feature that the userbase wants on a consistently basis. There are many features like this on the internet (game's premium items, online courses, e-commerce, premium access to some celebrities content, etc) but they use the USD as the anchor... Not saying this is easy, but somebody with enough power have to start this to create the snowball effect and grant to Hive/Steem the required momentum for it to consolidate its value and outweigh the dilution caused by the necessary inflation (necessary cuz there will be more users [hopefully] and the network should increase it's decentralization).

Which is way, SMT supposed to take over all that, and in the end it make steem become so valuable and so expensive to own, and all the smart media should all run their own contracts tokens and pegged by STEEM(or HIVE now).

Eventually, the only protective measure now is potatoes, but half of them, and sown half of them. I understand the idea of utility token, but currently other than games utility, I haven't seen real exchangeable value just yet. Moreover, #wherein project currently entirely based on #steem, so it's kinda stuck. Other than a 500ksp curation account that distributing rewards to the users, I don't see how it can hold value(may be I'm too dumb to see that). I'm kind worry my stake, frankly, on both platforms.

The attention industry is based on exactly that, attention... Actually I hoped that wherein gets noticed by people in China... In order.to get that you should get people's attention, what people wants to see, to hear, how they want to engage.

Once you have a big network, you just could make it by monetizing targeted ads from users browsed tags or communities.

The only thing that it takes is to have some celebrities and influencers to drive their fans there and have it all ready to receive them and let them taste the addictive nature of our platform lol.

If I had enough funds I would devote my full time to this endeavor, I see it has a 90% chance of success! Also, it is a potential massive profit.

Wish my upvote worth more. This is all I have.
