LMAC: Be Careful What You wish For....

(Edited)

After entertaining a large audience for three hours, the tired young magician wishes for a quiet holiday on a beautiful peaceful lake where he can go sailing and enjoy some alone time.

Without much thought, he conjures up the image of a beautiful lake but along with the perfect lake, lightning flashes and the three rabbits he keeps for magic tricks also appeared.

With the conjuring he has made it a realty. Now there will be no holiday for the magician without a lightning storm on the lake and the three rabbits tagging along.

Sometimes, my friend @redheadpei, there is just too much conjuring :))

The rabbits are beautiful. The scene is wonderfully laid out. The picture tells the story. Great collage.

Entertaining the large audience for 3 hrs? Maybe 2 hrs. would be long enough for a show. You could break out of chains and handcuffs or try Houdini’s water trick. Being double jointed would help. It would be scary Shy Mike unless your skill or magic tricks were really working at the time.:))

I wouldn't want to see you drowned. You could just pull a rabbit or dove out of a hand.:))

There's always a negative opposite of the positive. That's something people tend to forget when they make a wish.

Nice collage as always, Jo, and a nice story behind, which reminds me on "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 😄

Hi Hannes,😊

There is an expression, something like, “You can’t have the cherries without the pits.”

I remember it was a good movie. I saw The Sorcerer’s Apprentice on TV starring Nicolas Cage.

Strange weather. Since out heat wave we have much cooler weather the last couple days.

Thanks dear Hannes for your reblog and generous gifts.🤗🌟

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.☀️

Good morning Jo,

yep, that saying is correct - there's always a downside, but if you are aware of the pits and if you know that you can make a spitting contest with your kids, this downside can also make fun :)

Hm, I have seen the movie too and I liked it, but I meant the poem, which we had to learn at school - I still know a little bit of it 🤣

It is warm and sunny here, but also rainy at times, just as this morning was wet. Now the sun has come out and for the next days they predict over 30C.

I hope it's getting warmer and you're enjoying a nice Sunday, dear Jo 🤗🌞

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

I didn't find the poem Hannes but found the story which is interesting. My young magician seems to be in the same sort of predicament with his conjuring. :))

"The poem begins as an old sorcerer departs his workshop, leaving his apprentice with chores to perform. Tired of fetching water by pail, the apprentice enchants a broom to do the work for him, using magic in which he is not fully trained. The floor is soon awash with water, and the apprentice realizes that he cannot stop the broom because he does not know the magic required to do so.

The apprentice splits the broom in two with an axe, but each of the pieces becomes a whole broom that takes up a pail and continues fetching water, now at twice the speed. At this increased pace, the entire room quickly begins to flood. When all seems lost, the old sorcerer returns and quickly breaks the spell. The poem concludes with the old sorcerer's statement that only a master should invoke powerful spirits."

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday dear Hannes.🤗🌺

Good morning Jo,

I haven't found an English translation of the poem neither, but the story tells the same as the poem.
We had to learn it at school and I hated it for that 😉

I hope the sun has already come out over PEI and you'll have a nice Sunday, dear Jo 🌞🤗

Hahaha Jo, that is imagination overdrive. I love it especially the magic - we never know what will come from a wave of the wand.

I like your collage! I like the way you conjure! One should always be careful what you wish for. Or at least be ready for it.

How often do we say things like this? I wish I were thinner, had more time, etc... I no longer wish for anything. The reality would be too much! :)

Thanks Denise @dswigle. ❤️ We often wish for things when younger and not getting them may be a blessing in disguise. Now I just try to accept what is. :))

Yes! My mother used to say that and, of course, it rings more true now than before. Older and wiser? Probably not, but, I would like to think so! :))
