My work alludes to a time in English history when collage as a private artistic activity, almost exclusively feminine, reached its development. Despite all the social atrocities of the period, it is a time that I love, because, in the artistic field, it was very rich. Besides, in it we saw the flowering of the work of writers I love: Carroll, Conan Doyle,H.G. Wells, Wilde, Stevenson... / Mi trabajo alude a una época de la historia inglesa en la que el collage como actividad artística privada, casi exclusivamente femenina, alcanzó su desarrollo. A pesar de todas las atrocidades sociales del período, es una época que me encanta, pues, en el ámbito artístico, fue muy rica. A little over two months ago I started participating in the LMAC community contests. Their weekly calls for submissions unleash one of the most enjoyable collective art events I have ever known in Hive. About forty users give free rein to their imagination and skills (which grow and improve week by week) to make collages using a photograph by @Shaka, the admirable administrator of this community.
Shaka makes this wonderful weekly event possible with a skill worthy of applause. He has devised a system of collaborations and rewards where everyone wins, everyone learns and everyone supports each other. He's also very generous and truly watches and listens. I know that. And this combination makes the community the protagonist of his achievements.
Among the things I admire most about LMAC is the school. The user @Quantum, an artist, a digital connoisseur and an excellent teacher, offers the opportunity for those involved in the community to learn basic digital skills using Gimp, the open source (Photoshop compatible) program where images can be manipulated to make collages.
The year that just ended, I learned a lot at LMAC and met some beautiful people, with whom I have been able to exchange about a lot of subjects, in addition to the fact that they are growing artists and each one of them is, in itself, a school for me.
I have a beautiful debt with LMAC and, in part, this post wants to pay tribute to Community.

I got to know the community through @marcybetancourt (he has some amazing collage work). She is a wonderful person and I want to thank her for the encouragement and support she has given me. I also want to thank her for the opportunity she created for me to meet so many amazing people who have encouraged me within the community. I think everyone would agree that I cannot fail to mention, on behalf of the good will to whom the natural ambassador seems (at least I see it that way), dear Mrs. @agmoore (it's worth visiting her blog and reading one of her many research or art articles), always with a word of enthusiasm, illuminating with her generous words and her intelligence, apart from her great sensitivity, the work and progress of everyone.
I have nothing but words of gratitude and, when you live in a country like mine, which seems to have been ignited by demons, this feeling is invaluable.
Right now the community is in a Christmas break, but I still made this collage to contribute a little, and to have fun, of course, and... who knows? Maybe I've found a little treasure for my life.
The good teacher not only teaches with his classes, but with what he does. If you pay attention, you can learn a lot. At LMAC, @quantum, our teacher artist, uses characters created with the open source program Make Human. I was curious and took advantage of this break to experiment. This girl was built with Make Human. I called her Eva, of course. / El buen maestro no solo enseña con sus clases, sino con lo que hace. Si prestas atención, puedes aprender mucho. En LMAC, @quantum, nuestro maestro artista, usa personajes creados con el programa de código abierto Make Human. Picada por la curiosidad, aproveché este receso y me pusea experimentar. Esta chica fue construida con Make Human. La llamé Eva, por supuesto.
Hace algo más de dos meses comencé a participar en los concursos de la comunidad LMAC. Sus convocatorias, hechas semanalmente, desatan uno de lso eventos colectivos de arte más gratos que haya conocido en Hive. Alrededor de cuarenta usuarios dan rienda suelta a su imaginación y a sus habilidades (que crecen y se perfeccionan de semana a semana) para hacer collages tomando como punto de partida una fotografía de @Shaka, el admirable administrador de esta comunidad.
@Shaka hace posible este maravilloso evento semanal con una habilidad digna de ser aplaudida. Ha ideado un sistema de colaboraciones y retribuciones en el que todos ganan, todos aprenden y todos se apoyan. Además, es muy generoso y, de verdad, observa y escucha. Me consta. Y esta conjunción hace a la comunidad protagonista de sus logros.
Entre las cosas que más admiro de LMAC está la escuela. El usuario @Quantum, un artista, un conocedor del medio digital y un excelente profesor, ofrece la oportunidad a quienes se involucran en la comunidad de aprender a manejar las habilidades digitales básicas utilizar Gimp, el programa de código abierto (compatible con Photoshop) donde se pueden manipular imágenes para realizar los collages.
El año que recié finalizó, aprendí muchísimo en LMAC y conocí gente preciosa, con quienes he podido intercambiar sobre cantidad de temas, amésn de que son artistas en pleno crecimiento y cada uno de ellos es, en sí mismo, para mí, una escuela.
Tengo una deuda bonita con LMAC y, en parte, este post quiere rendirle tributo.
I like to include works of art in my collages. The first reason is obvious: they are works of art. The second can be a reason for an essay to be titled: The Collager and Desire?;The Collagerist and Desire?(I don't know the term). / Me gusta incluir obras de arte en mis collages. La primera razón es obvia: son obras de arte. La segunda puede ser motivo para un ensayo que se titule: El collagerista y el deseo.
Conocí la comunidad de la mano de @marcybetancourt (tiene un trabajo de collages asombroso). Ella es una persona magnífica y quiero agradecerle el aliento y el apoyo que me ha dado. También quiero agradecerle la oportunidad que creó para que conociera a tanta gente asombrosa que me ha animado dentro de la comunidad. Creo que todos estarían de acuerdo en que no puedo dejar de mencionar, en representación de la buena voluntad a quien parece la embajadora natural (por lo menos yo así lo veo), la querida señora @agmoore (vale la pena que visites su blog y leas uno de sus muchos artículos de investigación o de arte), siempre con una palabra de entusiasmo, iluminando con sus palabras generosas y su inteligencia despierta, aparte de su gran sensibilidad, el trabajo y los progresos de todos.
No tengo sino palabras de agradecimiento y, cuando se vive en un país como el mío, que parece haberse encendido de demonios, este sentimiento tiene un valor incalculable.
Ahorita la comunidad está en un receso navideño, pero igual he hecho este collage para contribuir un poco, y para divertirme, por supuesto, y... ¿quién sabe? Tal vez he encontrado un pequeño tesoro para mi vida.
