I took these images for a modelling agency in January this year. We were to shoot polaroids and headshots of four of their models. Two boy and two girl models.

Three of them were quite experienced models who had been developing with them for a while now. The other model was somewhat a rookie. She had just been scouted at an open call and that was like her first model shoot.

I had already worked with one of the models previously and we had an awesome session that day. It was great seeing him again and we caught up on each other. Didn't start the shoot with him though.

I started with Victor. He was a natural and he made the whole session so fluid and enjoyable. I really loved his vibes and posing. He had the attitude of a top model.

HOW I SHOT IT

The images were shot with natural light. It was almost golden hour and the light coming in through the clouds was soft. Again we shot in front of a building with shade. So we had really good light without crazy shadows.

The picture above shows the background used. The light was hitting him from my right hand side. So I used a reflector with a silver surface to fill in the shadows. Even though we didn't use artificial lighting. I loved how the feel of the image was. So clean and crisp.

My monomad entry

I told Victor that he was a really good model and I enjoyed the shoot. Had to tell him.
After his session, I moved on to the other models starting from Obinna who I had photographed prior to that day. It was easy as well because we were acquainted with each other.

It was a really fun shoot that day. I was satisfied with the images gotten. All but one of them made the job easy for me.

I shoot with a Nikon D3300 entry level camera and a Youngnuo 35mm 2.0 prime lens. I edited the image with Photoshop CC 2019. Used a special black and white preset to create this unique monochrome look for the images.

Here is the color version of the cover image.

I do hope you enjoyed the post and got a little tip on how to crush a shoot even without artificial lighting.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading my post. Until next time. Buzz on Bees.
