Travelgirl's Day 17 of Semi Lockdown in Sydney - Had My First 'The Alley' Drink

avatar

Hi Everyone,

Today I had to quickly run to the shops to replenish some supplies before the Easter holiday. It is also my last day at work before the Easter period therefore there are lots to be done today. I packed my car at Chatswood and as predicted, not many cars around as most people should be at home then again I did arrive very early. My aim is to head to the Asian store and Aldi to pick up supplies and head home for work. The highlight of the day must be my first 'The Alley' drink in Sydney since it opened as most stores opened during the lockdown so I would have not come out to especially buy the drink.

I haven't been to Chatswood for over a fortnight and lots of changed. All stores are closed, food court restaurants are not even opened to prepare for any takeaway, all seats are fenced off, the whole place was like a dead city. I was one of two people walking through the center.

After getting most supplies from the Asian store and at Aldi, I quickly went to get my drink. As you can see, Aldi has markers on the floor to remind people to have social distance when lining up or walking around the store.

I got the store to get my drink. If you are not familiar with this drink brand, it started in Taiwan and they have opened up many stores around the world. The quality of the drink is superb and you always seem to see lines around Asia for this drink at each branch. Nobody was waiting as really there was nobody at the center. I ordered the brown sugar with milk and one with brown sugar and chocolate milk. I have to say the drink is better than Bubble Nini at Chippendale but the price is 20% more though the cup is a bit larger. More on that on another post introducing this store.

The rest of the day has been great. Received 2 parcels where one of them is a VR headset. Can't wait to test it out and let you know how it goes!

I find the empty shopping center just creepy - nothing I like. It's funny to think of it being Easter - such a non event here that if you hadn't mentioned it, I would not have been reminded at all. LOL.

Be safe & healthy....

We're doing good. Happy Easter and good luck on the homeschooling front.

The Alley is very aggressive, think I've seen them in quite a few overseas countries in Asia, but have to admit I have tried them before as we're spoilt for choice in Taiwan.

You have so many choices in tw I wish I was in your position. They are aggressive and I guess that’s how they want to expand to take over the bubble tea competition

Your post makes me miss my life back in the Philippines.
Used to drink milk teas all the time over there. ;/
