Where does an opinion come from? Since perceptions are unique, are the number of opinion infinite exponential to an individual’s experience? I believe I am a photographer because I capture images inimitable. Someone else’s view may differ accordingly. I think strong beliefs are contagious, those that are quite compelling grab attention and hold fast. You can’t move anyone, if you’re not serious. There is no doubt, I have the hot hand.

“To have the hot hand is to achieve some elevated state of ability in which you briefly feel superhuman.”₁

It’s why I play video games. An exhilaration, the same in every kind of play, a string of successful moves, is like a bolt of lightning or force of wind. It reeks of superpower in the everyday, like blockchain for everyone, or photography, a divine power for humans. I feel it as I rack up kills online or pressing the shutter on a monumental frame. Maybe you feel it as you look at your young ones kick a ball or you get in a game against a loved one.

“But there is one more curious thing about the hand: It isn’t supposed to exist.”₂

I appreciate that my intuition guides me. I’ll admit that I’m not always in tune, either. Yet I feel receptive enough that I understand “the hot hand” is not all ‘hot air’.

“We’ve all seen and felt the hot hand. But how much should we trust what we see and feel?”₃
