Okay, so the much awaited social media platform of block.one is around the corner and who is excited about it?
Well, I would be lying if I said that I am not probably because I want to see how it looks and what will be it's impact on our very own steemit. The launch date is set to be 14th of February. They have picked a great day for the release of their social network. In India, Bollywood stars release their movies during festivals and they do perform very well on the box office. Block.one has taken a note from Bollywood I guess. Probably voice is going to the moon and you shouldn't miss out.
I am just kidding, voice is not going to the moon especially when their users will be made to submit their identity details for verification. Yes, you heard that right, voice is not like steemit. You can't just go there and create content anonymously, you have to verify your identity before you can post anything on voice. That is a big big let down for me as many of us would not like to reveal our identities. And who knows what they will do with our information! Probably sell to some company and earn millions.
But this KYC system won't work and they should have known it. How many jobless people, junkies and homeless people do you know? I bet you will be knowing at least one person in the above mentioned category. Offer them a few bucks and you are creating content on voice, anonymously.
I have signed up for an account with voice just to see how it works. Honestly, I do feel that it will have some success in the beginning just because of the company behind it. However, I am not sure whether it can survive in the long term.
You think otherwise! You are more than welcome to justify it in the comments section.
