Here today with some pictures of our lovely Christmas tree that we just put up!

Sprucing Up

It’s that time of year, to get our houses decorated and getting the Christmas spirit going! We got our Christmas tree on Black Friday, which was the far better thing to do instead of shopping, and we ran into some issues but that’s taken care of! Now we are putting some of the finishing touches on the tree.

One of the things we love, that I guess most people do that put up trees, is putting not only the cool bulbs and stuff but the special ornaments on the trees. These ornaments were from different times of our lives so they have nice symbolic nature to them but boy do they get more special as time goes on, particularly as our son gets older!

This Red Sox one was one I bought before I met my hubby, when it was just me in the house. Huge Sox fan here, if you couldn’t tell! This was originally on the tiny fake tree that I had for a few years before we were together and afterwards when we didn’t go too nuts with Christmas. Now that we have our son though we try to go and do the things that we think are important for him to know like getting a real tree and decorating whenever we can!

So this tree was the biggest one we got so far! It was incredibly heavy for the hubby to bring in the house, thankfully we had a neighbor that just got home at the right, or wrong depending on how you look at it lol, time! He helped us get it to the general area and we took care of the rest. It’s a lovely blue spruce tree, we had excellent luck with it last year and it lasted well over 2 months and it even started to grow some tiny roots oddly enough right in the tree stand! They look nice and smell fantastic. The smell goes away after a bit but all we do is pluck a needle off and crush it in our fingers and it lets go the lovely pine smells!

If you look close enough, you can see the plywood supporting the base there! Little bit of a snafu but I think everyone who gets a real tree runs into that at least once lol.

What are you doing to start getting into the Christmas season? We have been listening to Christmas music, well the hubby has been listening to it, for about 2 weeks now lol. Gotta love it though!

Stay positive and healthy, that’s the best thing we can do to counteract the fear and hate!
